Troubleshooting Bow Stop on Boat Trailer that Makes Winching it Last Few Inches Difficult
Question:
hi, I have a boatmate bunk trailer for a nautique G23 . currently has the fulton xlt1800 on the trailer. The position of the bow on most of the ramps I use, it an issue. the bow stop touches about 12inches short of the D ring. If I were to pull the boat out in that position it will result in the boat then leveling off and not being up to the bow stop. its a known issue with this combo. The winch I currently have will not move the boat up the bow roller without extreme power loading while cranking. I obviously hate doing that. I am hoping to upgrade to the 3200LB covered fulton and be able to crank the last 12inches up the bow stop to seat. let me know your suggestions. the boat probably weighs 7-8k loaded. secondly, I have a stolz orange bow stop. I believe part of the issue is the stop does not rotate at all. I feel like if that bow stop actually rotated then it will ease the cranking as well. I been looking at other boats and I see it appears that non of them rotate. Are the trailer companys just tightening them too much or should they not move. I researched for a sleeved version that would still rotate fully tightened but I have not found one. please advise. thanks

What about re positioning the bow stop? It sounds like it's not in an ideal location and your life would be easier if you moved it.
With that moved you'd be able to then use Fulton XLT Winch # F142425 and not worry about it straining those last few inches.
