Question:
I got a ETRAILER trailer hitch for my 2009 CHEVY EQUINOX LT and the 2 M12-1.75mm hex bolts that go up in the frame where the tongue is fit but the 4 that go into the sides of the frame the hex bolts are to big .Do you have an idea what the size of the weld nuts would be ?

Expert Reply:
The M12-1.75 x 40mm hex bolts that come with the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver # E98865 should fit the weldnuts on your 2009 Chevrolet Equinox as they have been tested and confirmed to work with your specific vehicle.
A lot of times weldnuts get debris in them which makes starting the bolts pretty difficult. If you haven't already tried spraying penetrating oil like WD-40 and letting it soak for 5 minutes then cleaning it with a brush like part # 814092, do that and see if it makes a difference. If it doesn't just let me know and I can assist you further.
Attached is an installation video of this trailer hitch on a 2012 Chevy Equinox for you to see the cleaning process as well as a helpful article that gives you step-by-step instructions.
