Recommendation for a Pipe Mounted Swivel Trailer Jack for a Home Made Trailer
Question:
I have a home built trailer with a pipe welded onto the frame. Id like to use the existing pipe mount for a trailer jack. Its an I-beam frame so a clamp-on trailer jack is not a good option. The pipe mount is a 2 OD horizontal stub welded onto the I-beam frame, about 12 bottom of pipe above the ground when the trailer is hooked up. Theres 10 between the back end of the pipe and the trailer frame. there are four 9/16 holes drilled into the pipe for a locking pin. Id like to buy a swivel jack that fits this existing mount without having to cut off the welded pipe and weld a new one on. Any suggestionsthe trailer weighs 1,000 pounds empty.

I believe I have just the jack for you. Take a look at Pro Series Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack, # PS1401460303. I went out to the warehouse and measured this jack and it will fit around a 2 inch diameter tube and uses a 9/16 inch pin. It is a short jack at 11-1/4 inches retracted. It has more than enough capacity at 5,000 pounds for your trailer. I looked at a lot of jacks while I was out there and this one seems to be the best fit.
