Tow package can have several different meanings. It depends how your Express was set up. It can mean transmission, oil coolers, or suspension. Some vehicles have trailer wiring at the rear and some have factory trailer hitches as well.
I recommend checking the owner's manual to find out what functions are performed when the trailer button is used.
If you have the tow package you should have a trailer connector at the rear of your van.
If you do not have a trailer connector on your van I first recommend a 4-way connector like part # 118392. I have attached a link to an installation video for this harness on a 2017 Express Van you can check out.
You will then need part # ETBC7. This plugs into the 4-way connector and you will then need to hardwire the remaining wires as shown in the attached drawing. I have attached a link to an installation video for a brake controller on an Express van you can take a look at.
the brake controller I recommend is part # 90885. This is our most popular brake controller because it is easy to set up and operate.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
