Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels in your rear cargo area.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Hi
Installed in minutes appears to
be a nice addition to our business for hauling more merchandise. BUT the four smaller flat pieces of steel that hold the bolt head spin inside the 2010 Chevy Express frame and torqueing to speck was not achieved. I was able to wedge 3 of the four plates with bolt to stop it from spinning and torqued to spec but left one middle one un torqued. The light kit will have to be installed when the vehicle is empty to access the panels for removal.

light kit went easy all is well thanks. One thing, keeper pin a little hard to access so far under the bumper but the hitch does its job.

Very easy to install on my 2018 Express 3500 Passenger. Follow this video: https://www.etrailer.com/tv-install-tekonsha-prodigy-p3-trailer-brake-controller-2017-chevrolet-express-van-90195.aspx

I ran the right side light in a channel over the door (see pic of me pointing to it). I used an old tension rod to punch through the gasket and pull the wires through the body... no cords dangling out of my door!

I also installed the Curt Heavy Duty hitch and the 7 wire RV harness (for vans without factory wiring)... all using the video above.

by:
2007 Chevrolet Express Van

If you can't figure out the install on this, then you should'nt be driving. Easy, fast and worth the price. I paired this with the wiring kit for trailer brakes and 7-wire harness and I'm ready to tow. 2007 Chevrolet Express AWD passenger van.

by:

Used this on my AWD Express Moto Van. Straight forward easy hookup to the factory harness. Plenty of length on the trailer side wiring to run it out the back and connect to the trailer. Definitely worth the money to save the hassle of tapping into the factory harness.

Sal was great, got the order out same day FAST. Arrived right on time. The items were exactly what I needed to get my Van together for towing complete with hitch and wiring harness.

2018 GMC Savana Van

Both products were huge disappointment but this one was a total joke. The connectors do plug right in but the wires are too short to cleanly route or hide they have to be hanging in the air to reach - same behind the vehicle. This is worthless unless you just want the plugs, you will have to cut and buy a new flat to extend to your receiver unless you just want it all hanging from the plugs in the way of your cargo.

2003 Chevrolet Express Van

I can't even write a review because the item was stolen due to poor packaging. The item was sent with the shipping label slapped on instead of putting it in a separate box. Disappointed.

by:

This wiring product worked perfectly plug and play. Hardest part was running wires from inside van to the outside. There is a removable cap at bottom of body pillar under brake lights. Easiest to remove cap and run single wire up and tape harness and pull back out.
Only problem I noticed is my van was prewired so I bought wrong kit but this kit worked perfectly so I just stayed with it.
Works even better attached to the heavy duty hitch that I got from etrailer too.
You shouldn't be disappointed with this easy to install product!

Its been a year and still working without any issues.

Bolts on plugs in and working

by:

etrailer did a great job as usual but the vehicle this part is designed to fit does not have any existing openings to pass the connectors through so the wires all had to be cut and spliced back. I might as well bought an inexpensive vehicle side pigtail and spliced unto the wiring harness. It would have gone faster.

This particular wiring harness is meant to remain in the cargo area of the van until its needed. When you need to use it, just run it out the back doors and shut the doors. The weatherstripping around the doors is thick enough that the wires will not get pinched or damaged, as long as you avoid the door latches. Installing the harness in this manner protects the connector from damage and from moisture.

by:
2011 Chevrolet Express Van

Easy install. This wiring harness worked well for about 6 months. Now when I hit the brakes the trailer lights do not work properly.

Mark, thank you so much for your order and your feedback. The number one cause of faulty wiring harnesses is a loss of ground. To troubleshoot your wiring harness, I recommend checking out our wiring FAQ, which can be found at the following link:

Super easy to installed.

by:

This was truly "plug'n'play." There was nothing about it I did not like. As mine is an older utility-type cargo van, everything was exposed, so a little extra wire wrap here and there to neaten it up, it really only took a couple of minutes to install. While it is great for trailering, I installed it primarily to connect the lights on my hitch mounted bike carrier.

by:
2010 Chevrolet Express Van

A real time saver for my work van, all connectors fit great, the wires could have been maybe three or four inches longer, I can't believe that GM does not offer something like this, thank for the great product and fast shipping and a good price!

  • 2019 Chevy Express 3500 Trailer Wiring and Brake Controller Recommendations
Hey Scott, thanks for reaching out! The parts you're looking at will definitely get you what you're wanting in terms of wiring and a brake controller on your 2019 Chevy Express 3500, but I actually recommend swapping out the Hopkins Wiring # 31345 with the Tekonsha T-One # 118392. In my experience, Hopkins is less reliable and I wouldn't be surprised if you had to end up changing out that wiring a little further down the road. So for your application I recommend the following parts: ...

  • Parts Recommendation to Install a Brake Controller in a 2005 Chevy Express 3500 Van
Yes, as long as you have a basic understanding of how wiring works and have basic mechanical skills you could install a brake controller in your 2005 Chevy Express Van. Since you do not have a trailer connector you will want to first start with a 4-way. For that you will want part # 118392. Now to convert the 4-way to a 7-way and install a brake controller you will need the part # ETBC7. This comes with everything needed except for the brake controller. The Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 41946 is a great option for a 2015 Chevrolet Express Van. It will allow you to tow pretty much any trailer within reason due to the Class V rating. I have attached an install video below. In order to complete your setup you'll need wring as well, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118392 would start you off with a 4-way which could then be adapted to a 7-way using the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. • Brake Controller and Trailer Connector Recommendation for 2009 Chevy Express
Since your 2009 Express (which was built across the street from our facility) doesn't have a factory 7-way, there isn't a plug and play trailer connector option. That's not the end of the world though, because the installation is pretty simple, and we can help you through it. First, you'll need a 4 pole trailer connector to get the lighting circuits. I'd recommend part # 118392. You'd then choose a brake controller. I'd highly recommend a proportional controller like the Tekonsha Primus,...

  • Best Hitch for a 2021 Chevrolet Express Cargo Van
The hitch that I recommend for your 2021 Chevrolet Express Van is the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98861. This hitch is made in the USA, has a bolt-on, no drill installation and has plenty of weight capacity to tow a small trailer. It will provide you with a 2" receiver opening that is the most common size used for hitch mounted accessories like bike racks, cargo carriers and ball mounts for trailers. I also recommend picking up the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118392. The T-One...

The Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Cast Center - Custom Fit - Class V - 2" # 41946 is a confirmed fit for your 2005 Chevy Express van but the measurements are correct. This hitch does require drilling to install rounding out the holes, so that may account for the difference. My recommendation for you is to use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" # 14090 which measures 40 inches wide on center. This hitch requires no drilling for installation....

Hey Tim, so to have the capabilities to add a brake controller in the future you'd need to first add a 4-pole with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118392 and then add the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This will add a 7-way at the rear and will allow you to tow a vehicle with brakes, and be able to control them with a brake controller.
