I have a solution for you, but unfortunately, we do not have a hitch cargo carrier that will work well to transport a mobility scooter with your 1-1/4 inch, Class II trailer hitch. All of the Class II compatible cargo carriers we offer are either enclosed carriers or flat carriers that do not have a ramp to easily load a scooter.
The best solution to be able to carry the mobility scooter is to replace the Class II trailer hitch on your 2015 Chevrolet Equinox with a Class III hitch that will allow you a wider variety of cargo carrier options. For a Class III hitch for your Equinox, I recommend the etrailer Class III Receiver Hitch # e98865 because it comes with a more budget-friendly price. I've attached an installation video of this hitch for you.
The hitch cargo carrier with ramp that I recommend for you is the Flint Hill Goods 29x49 Cargo Carrier with Ramp # FHG69ZR because it is one of the lightest carriers we offer and has a longer 60-inch ramp to make loading the scooter even easier. I've attached a review video of this carrier on a similar vehicle to your Equniox.
In order to secure the scooter, you may also be interested in tie-down straps, like the Erickson Re-tractable Ratchet Straps with Push Button Releases # EM34415. This part number offers 2 ratcheting straps.
Keep in mind that the lowest rated component of the system will limit the amount of weight you can carry overall. In this case, it will likely be the tongue weight rating of your Equinox. Based on my research, I found that the Equinox has a tongue weight capacity of up to 350 pounds.
After subtracting the carrier's weight from the available tongue weight capacity (350 pounds - 77 pounds), we find that there is 273 pounds left for you to carry your mobility scooter. As long as the scooter weighs less than 273 pounds, you will be able to carry your scooter on the hitch with the # FHG77ZR carrier.
