Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

• I checked on the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and found that as long as the vehicle has selectable 4 wheel drive with a neutral position in the transfer case is towable as is. If the vehicle is rear wheel drive only, and has the 42RLE transmission a transmission lube pump is required. If the vehicle has an auto transmission other than the 42RLE the vehicle is not towable and will need to be trailered.
