Nice product. But I was hopeing for somthing I could handle myself. This carrier is to heavy for myself only to put on the truck. Other than that is seems to be well made. I just cannot use it.
The trailer worked really well for our trip from PA to SD. THE RAMP MADE IT SUPER EASY TO LOAD AND UNLOAD MY HUSBANDS HANDICAPPED SCOOTER. IT TOOK A LITTLE WHILE TO PUT TOGETHER BUT HELD UP WELL. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE.
This item is easy to build and install. I bought this product for my snow thrower - MTD 24" Two-Stage with Electric Start. It fit my snow thrower, but I have to undo the handle (of my snow thrower) to make it fit for transporting. Prefer to make the length of the trailer little bit longer.
I purchased this unit in the fall of 2013. I have found it very handy, especially to transport my 10hp, 28" wide snow blower several times, which was my primary intent. I had the same issues with packaging that others have, particularly the trailer hitch poking through the carton. The corners were susceptible to damage also, while I found a few blemishes, a couple of small dings, nothing worth making an issue out of. Anyone with some mechanical inclination can work around these little things. After assembly you can see how it fits the snow blower. The intake is up on the left side rail and the handles fit through the openings in the ramp perfectly. Overall I would recommend it, 4 out of 5 stars. Good value.
Nicely made unit although it could benefit from: 1) stronger top rail supports; 2) better 2" receiver tube fit (too loose); 3) improved ramp fasteners (for flexible ease of use); 4) inside free dimension of top rail expanded out to match inside free dimension of bottom tray (inches matter); and 5) better packaging for shipment. While listed as an "aluminum" carrier the unit has a steel, core backbone (draw bar & mounting plate for aluminum deck). This steel component gives a sturdy base and contributes to a large percentage of the weight.
Unit was received with dented/bent top rail (but not enough to warrant return) due to failed component restraints (nylon cable ties) that allowed the heavy steel base component to shift in packaging and dent.bend top rail.
Hitch "draw bar" is loose in 2" receiver and results in excessive rocking of the deck. Much improved with an anti-rattle or silent hitch pin that draws it close to one side of the tube. Since unit mounts with a rear edge at about 3 ft, from bumper I've over- engineered some modifications to include additional conspicuity reflectors and 1" LED trailer lights to try & keep tailgaters at bay and augment tow vehicle taillights. Also added non-slip material to the aluminum ramp treads. It's a "BMW" carrier now.
Regardless of the shortcomings, this is a nice product that will serve well, when the work simply doesn't justify hauling around a trailer.
I recently purchased a cargo carrier for my hitch. It was easy to assemble and it looks great.
Product was bent in some areas ( maybe during shipping ) nothing a hammer couldn't fix , but still kinda disappointed ,
Need very small fingers to assemble some of the washers and bolts ( hard to get to ) some parts seem to be kinda flimsy ...
Still think this will be a good fit for what I'm looking for , shipping was fast ( did 3 day) ordering on the phone was fast and easy , Reps were really nice and helpful ...
Overall i believe its a good product. It looks as pictured on-line. It took me about 3 hours to put it together, and I did that by myself. The instructions were pretty good, and the pictures within the instructions were useful.
The total package received was fine as a shipment via UPS. As others have said, the box from the carrier was pretty beat up when it arrives at your door. In my case, yes, damaged to exterior box, but no damages done to the product inside via the carrier UPS in transit.
FYI, "some assembly required". For sure. I have excellent mechanical skills and decades of experience working on equipment. It took me 3 hours from opening the shipment to having the carrier mounted on my car,
I would give this assembly effort a 3 on a 5 scale. It is not very complicated, it just requires lots of very tedious nut and bolt assembly and being sure that you don't get the main parts upside down or backwards. The instruction pamphlet is OK,
but if you are a novice in mechanical skills, take your time.

Inside Diameter Is Only 47/ 28 inches not what is advertised. Easy to assemble. pins to hold up the ramp are to big I put thinner pins in works better.
Easy to put together. All holes lined up.
Put on car receiver and rolled wheelchair up onto it.
All works great.

Light, easy assembly, hopefully holds the 500lbs. My generator is just under 300lbs full of fuel.
The metal shavings aren’t blown out so don’t be surprised to get some that poke your fingers or fall out when assembling. If your receiver is more than probably 2 ft off the ground the ramp is pretty useless, get the longer ramp (that’s not a negative of this one since obviously that’s what I ordered, just something to beware of.
I have had one of these years ago. Now, I needed another one and etrailer was the best prices around, plus free shipping. Customer service is above the top and the cargo carrier w/ramp is great quality. There was an issue with shotty shipping from UPS, but that matter was resolved through etrailer which was no fault of there’s at all. I will definitely use these guys again whenever needed. Highly recommend
I use this product to haul around a heavy duty mobility scooter. The bottom steel brace has held up well to the abuse of carrying this load. Past carrier racks I have purchase would start to bend and sag after a couple of months of use. This is why it got 3 stars instead of 1.
The sides of the rack have not held up very well at all. The plastic corner pieces are the weak points of this design the first time the scooter bumped against the end of the rack the plastic corner pieces gave way and the whole front broke off. I had to use some engineering to put a replacement on that would hold up. The other longer sides have bent outward and can make it difficult to get the pins in the holes but this is a minor issue.
The pieces were also bent in some places when I received the box originally. None of the bent parts were going to affect the racks ability to bear the load so I did not worry about the hassle of trying to return the rack. Keep in mind that this product is aluminium so it is soft and will "dimple" if you tighten the assembly parts too tight.
The ramp is just a few inches too short for easy loading and unloading of my particular scooter. It will high-center if there is a change in angle of the car but that is due to the length of the scooter base and not just this product.
I use this trailer to haul a 28" Craftsman Snow Blower to sites in my vicinity to clear snow. The platform is sturdy and up to the task of frequent loading and unloading of my machine that weighs over 200#, The trailer is well suited for this use.
However the aluminum side walls are soft susceptible to bending when bumped which can put the lift gate out of alignment with the base. I've had to reinforce the loading platform with tread tape as it was very slippery when covered with snow. Additional reflector panels were added to the backside to make the trailer more visible to cars behind me.
All in all, I would still recommend purchase of this unit.
Thank you etrailer it will be exactly what I needed to haul my eu6500is (Honda generator 250#) behind my 5th wheel trailer. It seems to be extremely light to handle up to 500lbs. But your engineers know a lot more than I do about this than I do so away we go. Shipping was a little rough on the package but the contents were not damaged at all. Assembly was easy as could be. Although I wanted to put the ramp on the left side to miss the ladder on the trailer, it still turned out fine. Now I need to road trip it for the final test. Thanks again, wish me luck. Barry
I was not sure if this would work for my wife's wheelchair or not. But after getting it and putting it together, I could not be happier. I does everything addvertise and more. He wheelchair weighs 385 lbs, I also ordered the spring loaded ratchet straps for it. They have worked together and I could not have made a better choice.
Received replacement cargo carrier in good time. Box was well reinforced. The steel support had come loose in the box and caused some damage, but was able to straighten rail. It took about 2 hours to put together. Everything was in the package and directions were excellent. Installed carrier on my old work horse of a truck. Have already used it to transport push mower and gas cans. Decided to use the locking part of my trailer hitch instead of the one provided. Exactly what I was looking for.
The cargo carrier is sturdier and beefier than I thought it would be, which is good. Assembly was straight forward. A previous reviewer commented on how easy it was to strip out the bolt heads and that was a good heads up. I snugged the bolts using the screwdriver and did the final tightening using the wrench on the nut and no bolt heads were stripped. I am planning on using the carrier to haul my 5 HP two stage snowblower and when I loaded it up after assembly the machine fit perfectly. This carrier is about 40lbs lighter than the equivalent steel carrier and I was able to maneuver it into my SUV's hitch with no problem. Recommend buying an anti rattle device to further secure the carrier to the hitch. I can recommend buying this carrier.
Fast delivery; well packaged; unfortunately I put the top rack on upside down and had the pins for the ramp on bottom instead of the top. Had to remove 20 screws flip and put 20 screws back. Wish the slats were closer because small wheels have trouble. I cut a piece of plywood for the ramp and platform and worked fine. Purchased this to haul a 425 lb. wheelchair. I run two tie down straps from my truck to back of carrier and it worked great. Would recommend this product.

I could not be happier with this Cargo Carrier, Saturday we placed our 3500 KW Champion Generator on the platform. I shopped for this for this elsewhere and a few other website and your was the less expensive. I am very satisfied and it was a breeze to put together. I moved the carrier myself and my wife helped me place it on the Jayco Travel Trailer. My 4 brothers have seen it and I told them about your prices, plus 4 neighbors, and 4 brother in-laws. I promise I will promote your site every time anybody asks me where I got it so much respect.
The item was a great price, and in the end was exactly what i wanted. There are 76 screws so some assembly is definitely required. It was not difficult, just time consuming. My package was quite damaged and so was the carrier, but i do not think it was e-trailer sending it this way as i have bought from them several times this year and no torn packages until now. This was purchased for our 5th wheel.

Try reversing the snow blower in and have the handles over the opposite side then you wouldnt have to remove the handles
