Awesome use it everyday for my work.

by:

I bought the spring kit to put on my home built trailer that I put my old heavy slide-in camper on. It more than met my expectations. There was no sway at 75mph or on the 5 mile trail back to camp.

by:

It was easy to install, and had all the parts I needed.
The trailer rolls down the road nice.
This helped me get a barn find trailer back on the road.

by:

Had what I needed to repair my trailer. Shipping was faster than expected. The kit should contain bushing for the springs as well. Also an option for the greaseable pins.

by:

We summer at a remote cabin in the Gila Nat'l Forest above Silver City NM. The last 5 miles to the cabin is extremely rough and puts a lot of wear and tear on both my truck and my trailer that we use to transport water, food, building materials and supplies to the cabin on a twice a month schedule. I have had suspension springs break, blown tires and damaged coupler. I ordered this kit to replace the entire hanger assembly because of wear and tear, cracks and loose fittings. I had to re-enforce the frame and weld up some cracks and wear points. The kit was great and worked perfect. The trailer is now like new and will serve me for years to come.

by:

I think these Trailer spring hangers are working out very well. Can’t wait to test it out on the road. I’m building a 7000 lbs GVWR trailer to mount a generator on.

by:

Excellent experience. My order shipped and arrived extremely fast and the customer support team was kind professional and promp in answering any questions I had.

by:

I'm building a trailer for a gutter machine from scratch. And the parts that I got from e-trailer are exactly what I needed, and on top of that they got to my house 3 days earlier than they were suppose to. I know where to order again if I need some more parts in near future ;) thank you guys

by:

I had a trailer with a suspension that needed new bushing and rocker arm. I looked on line and decided on the parts I needed. I called my order in on Sunday evening and explained I needed the parts ASAP.
The parts were sent to UPS Sunday evening. I received the parts about 2:00 Wednesday. I have already installed the parts. The suspension is back like new now.

by:

I received my order very fast. The quality is excellent and everything that I expected. What is also impressive is that if you have questions about setting up your axle kit, etrailer has printable instructions right on their website that will make installation simple.
I have built several trailers over the years and appreciate the quality and service provided by etrailer. I highly recommend this company and their products.

My flatbed trailer is a 1998 and the suspension and wheels were suffering from Pa's use of salt brine on the roads. The wheels had holes rusted through them! Decided it was time to repair the trailer. Got new wheels and suspension parts from E-trailer. Got my parts fast at a good price and well on my way to having a reliable trailer again. Great service and will do business again!

Year later and trailer is still working great again. PA inspection will be due in a month and everything is still in good shape

by:

Donna helped me a great deal and made sure I ordered just what I needed and rushed the delivery so I could attend my event to meet Tim Mattis and team up to fight veteran suicide.

by:

Perfect fit. No problems.

by:

I have ordered from Etrailer a few times now, The service is always great and fast shipping. They have the best prices around. Where I live I have 24 miles of rough dirt road so am always replacing parts on my trailers. Their products hold up to the test of my road. Always a perfect fit too!

everything is still holding up very good! Thank you guys for the excellent service!

by:

I didn’t receive all parts on original shipment. Box was partly open due to the box wasn’t big enough and that’s why it bust. After Tralee already tore part when found. I called to get replacement parts. That went well until I received what I was originally missing, and y’all sent me galvanized straps and I said to hell with it. Not going to keep waiting. I’ll paint over them. Not sure why my new order and the replacement straps couldn’t have been shipped together. But oh well I’ll wait several more days for part that was in stock in the same building probably to shopped late. Better luck next time

  • Spacing Measurements for Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit APT5 & Spring e27SR
When setting up a new trailer suspension it is best to do a mock-up (by clamping or tack welding the parts in place) to allow you to see how the system functions. There are so many variables that is best to test. Typical spacing dimensions for 25-1/8-inch springs are shown in the chart on the page for # APT5. Since the springs you intend to use, 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e27SR, are 7/8-inch longer than those listed in the chart, you will want to increase the hanger spacing approximately...

  • Should Trailer Suspension Equalizers be Level
If the trailer is not loaded then you will often see equalizers that are tilted like yours. It does not necessarily mean that there is a problem with the suspension. If the springs are worn out then the trailer would easily bottom out. If that is not happening then the springs are likely fine. It is possible that some component is not the right size as well. If the springs are too short or the equalizers are not long enough that can affect the geometry of the suspension.

  • Recommended Axles for Two Trailer Builds with 14K Capacity & 7K Capacity
For your trailers, I recommend not using a steering axle because there are different requirements for them and your trailers don't need them. If you want to pursue the steering axle you will need to check with your local DMV for requirements. My recommendation is to use a single or tandem axle application for each trailer. If you want to use a single axle for your 7K trailer, I recommend the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - Spindle w/ Brake Flange - Regular Tires - 7K...

  • Hanger Kit to Use with Leaf Spring e94SR for 35 inch Wheelbase
The leaf spring part # e94SR that you referenced is a 6k trailer axle spring that is 26 inches from eye to eye so it will work in place of the Dexter you mentioned. If you used it with the hanger kit part # APT5 you'd have a wheelbase of 35 inches.

  • Comparing Amount of Drop of Torflec Axle with a Drop Axle
The 10 degree up Torflex axle will have the center of the spindle sitting about 0.31" below the bottom of the frame of your trailer under no load. When it is under a full load it will sit about 1.45" above the bottom of the frame of your trailer. If you are wanting a Torflex axle that sits lower then you need the 22.5 degree which has the center of the spindle sitting about 0.52" above the bottom of your frame under no load. Under a full load that will sit about 1.82" above the bottom...

  • How To Determine Axle Spacing On Tandem Axle Dump Trailer Using 30-1/4" Leaf Springs
I would be happy to help you figure out the axle spacing when installing your axles on your dump trailer. Since you are using a 30-1/4" double eye spring we do not have an exact axle spacing measurement as that is quite a bit longer than the springs we typically use so you will need to mock up the hangers and axles and see what works for that length spring. Your hanger spacing will likely be around 34" which would give you an axle spacing of around 39". The most important thing is that...

  • Determining Tire to Frame Clearance When Using Hanger Kit # APT5 and 145R12 Tires
It sounds like you are wanting to make sure you will have proper clearance between the top of your tires and the frame when using the etrailer.com Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit # APT5. We can definitely figure this out but it will depend on the type of leaf springs you are using as well. To determine clearance with your setup you will add the 4 inch frame height to the height of these hangers (3-3/4 inches). Then take that number and add to it the distance from the eyelet on your leaf...

There is not an exact size leaf spring, equalizer, and shackle strap length that must be used on your trailer but they do all have to be compatible with each other. That said, the measurements that you provided are fairly standard so I recommend using the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit part # APT5 with the 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring part # e34SR (4). Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit, like part # K71-385-00, is specified by Dexter for use only with double-eye springs. It is not suitable for use with slipper springs. If you really wanted to move the axle under the leaf spring you would have to replace all hangers, equalizers, and springs. The Dexter Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs # APT5 does include the spring hanger components for a tandem axle trailer like yours. You'll need to determine how much height increase you need. This will tell you if the height gain from over-under kit # K71-384-00 or from the taller hangers will be enough for you. Then for leaf springs you'd want the part # e54SR, for a U-bolt kit part # APUBR-1, and then for a hanger kit with equalizers, shanks, bolts, and shackles too you'd want the part # APT5.

Yes the hangers from Hanger Kit # APT5 must be welded to your trailer's frame by a qualified welder, preferably one with experience on trailers. As for the load capacity of the trailer, that will depend on the part of the trailer with the lowest capacity; for example if you have a pair of 3,500 lb axles the trailer bed still needs to be rated for 7,000 lbs of cargo. If it is rated for 5,000 lbs that means your trailer's capacity is 5,000 lbs no matter what axles you have. I have added...
