So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

A must have .just wish I had got my trans cooler from etrailer they are a great company .so if you gonna put a trans cooler own you GM truck take my word for it you best go to trailer! Won't be sorry, thanks

by:

Will make the installation of the trans cooler easier

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

by:

These fittings made connecting the hoses to the steel transmission lines very easy - glad I bought them! I recommend getting them.

by:

I purchased these fittings thinking these would fit my GM product. NOT.......These are 3/8 and looks like the fit the truck series only as stated on the package. Be aware

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2011 Chevy Silverado
You are a little on the warm side for your transmission fluid. If you can keep it under 200 degrees you will have the max life out of it. That being said transmissions really start to go downhill at 260 degrees. The Derale cooler part # D13503 with the install fitting part # D13018 is the most popular option for your 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 and would work well. I attached an install video that shows the cooler installed in a similar GM vehicle.

  • Fittings Needed To Install Derale Transmission Cooler On 2002 GMC 1500 With 5.3L Engine
The fittings needed to install the Derale Transmission Cooler, part # D13504 on your 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3L engine are part # D13018. These are 5/8 inch inverted flare fittings designed to work specifically for your Sierra radiator, and require no cutting or flaring lines.

  • Where is the Transmission Return Line on a GMC Sonoma
I really wish I knew exactly which transmission line on your GMC Sonoma was the return line but unfortunately, I do not have this information. However, if you drive the vehicle around the block and then grab each of the two transmission lines that lead in and out of the radiator that should give you a very good idea of which is which. The return line should be considerably cooler. Please note that in order to install a transmission cooler on a GMC Sonoma you may also need to use the Derale...

  • Transmission Line Fitting Recommendation for 1984 Chevrolet Silverado 454 Turbo
The Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings, # D13018, covers 1987 - 2007 Chevy trucks so I can not guaranty that this would work for you. Instead you can use a universal fitting like part # D13031 for 5/16 inch line, # D13032 for 3/8 inch line, or # D13033 for 1/2 inch line. You will just need to take a quick measurement of the line on your 1984 Chevrolet Silverado 454 Turbo to determine which one you will need.

  • Engine Oil and Transmission Fluid Combination Cooer for a 2006 Chevy Avalanche
for a remote combination oil and transmission fluid cooler I recommend # D15230. You will also need installation kit # D13006 and oil cooler kit # D15752. This is a thermostatic oil cooler kit so the thermostat will be associated with the engine oil temperature and it will activate once the temperature reaches 180 degrees so it will be perfect for your application. To make installation of the transmission cooler part I recommend adding fitting # D13035 for the 5.3 liter motor or # D13018...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500
For your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 I would recommend the larger transmission cooler part # D13504 as basically the larger the cooler you have the better, and your truck would have room for it's size of 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep. For a fitting that would allow you to install the cooler without having to cut or flare any lines you would want the part # D13018. Keeping the transmission fluid cool is the greatest way to prolong the life of the transmission as heat is a transmission's worst enemy.

I am not familiar with a 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 4.6L V6 engine, so I did some research, but I was still not able to find a model that came with a 4.6L V6 engine. According to my contact at Derale, the 5/8 Inch Inverted Flare Fittings, # D13018, that you purchased should fit the 2012 and 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 4.3L V6. • How Does Derale Radiator Fitting for Transmission Coolers Install on a 2002 Chevy S10 2.2 Liter
The Derale transmission cooler fitting # D13018 is listed as a fit for your 2002 Chevy S10 2.2 liter. The fittings thread onto steel transmission lines and in the radiator so you will not have to flare the lines. I included a picture that illustrates this.

  • Troubleshooting Transmission Fluid And Engine Coolant Mixing On 2003 Cadillac CTS
Sorry to hear about the problems with your brother's 2003 Cadillac. The first thing you will want to do is have the transmission taken care of. I am not aware of a separate cooler for the transmission located under the intake manifold. Typically what is used is a line that runs from the transmission to the radiator. The radiator holds engine coolant and the transmission fluid line is run inside the radiator as well. The radiator cools both the engine coolant and the transmission fluid...

Along with this cooler you will need the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM , item # D13018, if your TrailBlazer has the 6.0 Liter engine or the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM , item # D13035, if your engine is the 4.2 or 5.3 liter. • Can the Derale Stacked-Plate Transmission Cooler Kit Be Mounted in Any Direction or Orientation
The inlet and outlet on transmission coolers can be oriented in any direction you like and because the cooler is a flow through device you can use either port as the inlet or outlet, whichever makes the installation easier and uses the least amount of hose. The one thing you want to be sure of, is that the cooler is mounted so that most air flows through it, usually in the same orientation as your radiator. Since the transmission line running into the radiator is a hard line, you will need to install a short length of 11/32 I.D. hose like # D13003 between the two fittings. • Preventing Leaks When Installing Derale # 15718 Engine Oil Filter Relocation Kit
I spoke with my contact at Derale and they provided some very useful information. They said you do not want to use a liquid sealant of any type because it acts as a lubricant when first applied and would actually allow you to over tighten the fittings causing leaks. They suggest using a thread tape and tightening to approximately 8 to 10 ft lbs. Although the suggestion to hand tighten and then turn an additional 1/4 turn may work, the term hand tighten would be different for everyone.

  • Recommendation for Cooling the Coolant and Transmission Fluid Temperature on a 2008 Chevy Avalanche
For the radiator coolant temperature, I recommend adding a supplemental fan or fans depending on how much space you have under the hood. There is no limit to the amount of fans you can have. A pusher fan, mounted in front of the radiator pushing air through it, would be the most efficient (provided that the factory fan is mounted on the same side and pushes air through in the same direction). A puller fan would be used on the other side of the radiator to pull air through. The largest electric...
