Video Transcript for Review of Derale Transmission Coolers - Mounting Bracket Kit - D50020

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this bracket kit for the Derale High Performance Stacked Plate Coolers. Now this four-way bracket system will offer multiple mounting options for your Derale Stacked Plate Coolers. This includes the four brackets, and if you notice it has the four bolt holes to here to here, and it'll allow you to do multiple mounting positions for your cooler. And I did want to show you a couple samples of a way you could mount it.

There's a insert. If you look at that, it shows how you could mount it that way, and mount your cooler. And then there's another way, turn it around and do it that way. So it gives you multiple mounting options. These brackets do have a nice black powder coat finish to 'em.

It does include all the hardware you need to install it. All the bolts, nuts, and washers. Comes with a nice set of instructions with pictures on how this all goes together, and the different ways you can install your cooler. And these parts are made in the USA. But that should do it for the review on the bracket kit for the Derale High Performance Stacked Plate Coolers.

Its hard to get excited about brackets, but these are very good quality and will be very helpful to install my transmission cooler, also purchased through E Trailer.

by:

Although it took some bending and finagling to make these fit, when I was done, that tranny cooler aint going nowhere. These brackets made a very secure mount possible.

Products from etrailer have never disappointed me. I have been using etrailer for years and will continue. Plane on using these items on our trip to Utah to see my grandchildren. I haven't had a chance to use them yet but not worried because etrailer always delivers.

  • Fasteners Needed to Attach Derale Transmission Cooler to Radiator
If you're speaking of the rod and pad zip ties, we do indeed offer those as part # D13001. If you'd rather use metal strapping, you can use part # D13063 or the # D13002. For a neater appearance, Derale offers the # D50020 bracket kit. For ease of use, the # D13001 would be your best bet. The rods will actually pass through the gaps between the radiator fins.

  • Is a Heat Sink Frame Rail Transmission Cooler Good Enough for a 1991 Chevy S10
Heat sink coolers like # D13250 are not as efficient as other coolers but they are great at fitting in narrow spaces. If you want the optimum amount of cooling then you would want to go with a stacked plate cooler # D13403. This cooler is rated as a Class V which means it is very efficient. We also have # D13402 which is a little smaller and classified as a Class IV. You would also need mount kit # D50020 if you go with the smaller Class IV cooler. I have included a link to our FAQ article...

  • Parts Needed to Install a Transmission Cooler on a 2004 Buick Rainier With 3600 Stall Converter
My research shows that you will need to add the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting, # D13035, to the Derale Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13504, that you selected, to complete the installation on your 5.3 liter V8 GM motor. This cooler would work fine to help cool the transmission for towing. It sounds as if you are building a street strip application, with a 3600 stall converter, so I would recommend going with a Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13950. This...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2015 Toyota 4Runner
Transmission coolers don't have specific fits, but if you have room for the # D52506 in front of your radiator/AC condenser then it would work well. It measures 13" Wide x 9-3/16" tall x 2" deep. This is one of the most efficient coolers on the market that would work great on your vehicle. To install this cooler you will need a few other components. Part # D50020 for a bracket kit, part # D98200 for a fittings (you'll need two of these), hose clamps part # D13008, and rubber hose part # D13017.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2009 Ford F-150 STX 4.6L
We have a few excellent transmission coolers that would be great additions to your 2009 Ford F-150 STX, but they will each be a little larger than your factory cooler and rightfully so since you will be towing a 7,000 lbs trailer. My best recommendation is the Derale Stacked-Plate Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13402. The stacked-plate coolers are the most efficient tranny coolers on out there, so you can rest assured that it will be doing the most to keep your transmission fluid cool when...

  • Can the Factor Transmission Cooler be Bypassed on a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0
The transmission coolers that we carry are designed as supplemental coolers and not to replace a factory cooler. You could bypass the factory cooler but you would need the largest cooler that will fit in the available space in the engine compartment or you would need a cooler that has its own electric fan. For a large cooler or one that is very efficient I recommend # D54006 which is a stacked plate design (most efficient). It measures 13 inches wide by 13-11/16 inches tall by 2 inches...

  • Will a Stacked Plate Transmission Cooler Fit a 2006 Chevy Avalanche
You can install transmission cooler # D52506 on your 2006 Chevy Avalanche because coolers are not vehicle specific. If you have the available space under the hood you can install it. The cooler is 13" wide x 9-3/16" tall x 2" deep. It does not come with hose, clamps, or provisions to mount it. To mount it you can use kit # D50020. For clamps use # D13008. And for hose use # D13017. And to avoid cutting and flaring factory lines you can use fitting # D13035.

  • How to Determine if Transmission Cooler Will Fit In Front of the Radiator on a 1999 Chevy Silverado
For transmission coolers you have to go by their dimensions compared to the available space where you want to install it. Stacked plate cooler # D51908 is 13 inches across, 7-7/16 inches tall, and 2 inches deep. If you have more than this much space in front of the radiator then it will fit your 1999 Chevy Silverado. This particular cooler is not a kit so it doesn't come with any hose or mounting components. To mount it you can use # D50020. For hose you can use # D15799 and clamps #...

For a bracket kit you would need the part # D50020, for AN fitting adapters you'd need two of the # D98200. For the fitting for your truck you would want the part # D13035. For a 5 foot section of hose we have the part # D13016.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2012 Ram 3500, 6.7 Cummins with 6 spd Automatic
The best way to install a supplemental transmission cooler in line with a factory transmission cooler is to put the supplemental cooler after the factory cooler. To do that you will need to determine which of the lines from the factory cooler is the outlet. To do that you will want to start your truck when its cold, put it in drive for about 10 seconds with the brake on, put it back in park and shut the truck off. Next you will want to grab both transmission lines feeding into the cooler....

  • Can Two 40 Row Derale Transmission Coolers be Used in Place of a Factory Cooler
Yes! You can use 2 of the Derale 40-row coolers # D54008 to cool the transmission fluid on your prostreet car. The stacked plate design is the most efficient at cooling. To optimize cooling make sure the coolers are mounted where they can get the most air flow (right behind the grille). I also recommend a couple of mount kit # D50020 and some hose. For a 25 foot length with an inner diameter of 11/32" use # D13007. For 25 feet of a 3/8" diameter use # D13017. We also have a 4-pack of stainless...

  • When Installing a Transmission Cooler Can the Inlet/Outlet Ports Face Down
Yes, you can install a transmission cooler like the Derale 25-Row Stacked-Plate Cooler part # D52506 so that the inlet and outlet ports are facing down. The inlet and outlet ports do not need to be pointed in any one specific direction as the line pressure will work to pump the fluid though the inlet of the cooler and out the outlet to be returned back to the transmission. The stacked-plate transmission coolers like the Derale 25-Row, High-Performance, Stacked-Plate Cooler with -6 AN Fittings part # D52506 do offer superior cooling power when compared to plate-fin and tube-fin designs. However, they are also much thicker at 2" which means you will need to make sure you have this much depth in addition to the length and height of 13" wide x 9-3/16" tall. There should be plenty of space behind your grille for this cooler so I don't think you will have any issues....
