Review of Curt Ball Mounts C45016

Today we'll be reviewing part number C45016. This is the Curt Class One or Class Two Draw Bar. It's going to provide a two and five eighth inch rise or a three and one quarter inch drop and it's rated at 3500 pounds. This is made from a sturdy steel construction providing a nice solid shank here on the back side. It is corrosion-resistant due to the black gloss powder coat finish. It goes through a high quality manufacturing process.

It is CNC machined for strong consistent cuts and welds and it goes through a seven stage washing method that's going to deliver a smooth clean surface. Both the drop and rise positions are available with this mount to ensure level towing. This does require a hitch pin and clip or a hitch pin and lock, those items are sold separately. You can refer to our website underneath the related products of this product page to view those items or go to our website and type in part number PC2 to view this item. This is designed to fit an inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter trailer hitch receiver. It is class one or a class two compatible.

This is going to provide a gross towing weight of 3500 pounds with a maximum tongue weight of 350 pounds. Now, when choosing your hitch ball you need to be sure that it has a three quarter inch diameter when it comes to the shank because when we measure the diameter of our ball hole it measures three quarters of an inch. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole is going to measure nine and three eighths of an inch. Then the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of our ball mount is going to measure an inch and a half. The measurement from the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright portion is going to measure six and one quarter inches. Now, with this installed in the drop position this is going to provide a drop of three quarters or three and one quarter inches that's going to measure from the inside top edge of the receiver tube to the ball platform.

If you we're to install this in the rise position it's going to provide a rise of two and five eighths of an inch. Again, measuring from the inside top edge of the receiver tube to the ball platform. It is a simple installation. The shank is going to be the portion it's going to slide in to the receiver tube of your hitch. You slide it in until you have the hitch pin holes in line with each other and then you will take your hitch pin and clip or hitch pin and lock, slide it in the appropriate holes to fully secure everything together. That's going to complete today's review of part number C45016, that's the Curt Class One or Class Two Draw Bar rated at 3500 pounds.
