Hey everyone I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a quick look at the PTC custom fit, synthetic oil filter. This is a fit for a lot of different vehicles, mostly GM vehicles from about the late nineties to the mid-aughts. To be sure that this is a fit for your particular vehicle you'll want to use our fit guide if you haven't already. Basically you just put in your year, make and model into our fit guide and then go from there to find the right filter for you. But, that's probably led you here in the first place. This does fit a lot of different vehicles, though.Pretty straightforward.
We'll have our filter here. It does have a seal to help prevent any kind of leaks for our fluid to get out. It's a filtration system that's going to remove any of the contaminants from our oil. So it helps to make sure that everything's running properly and it protects our engine up to 10,000 miles. It also filters out even the small particles that we can encounter.
It's going to have a, again that seal, which is a silicone anti-drain back valve, so it helps protect during start-ups. It's made out of a heavy gauge steel canister, so that keeps it protected from any kind of damage during install. There's several flats along the side to help get this installed with an oil filter wrench. It's able to withstand temperatures from negative 40 degrees Fahrenheit up to more than 300 degrees Fahrenheit. It's also self-contained, spin on design.
Makes it really easy to install. Again, it is designed for use with synthetic oil. So keep that in mind whenever you're replacing this on your vehicle.That's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the PTC custom fit oil filter. I cannot give a review on the filter as it is NOT the right one cor my car. The site stated it was, it might fit, but none of the numbers match and it is a lot shorter.
