I know this has to be solid to do the job it needs to do but wow 225lbs
4 stars is for the person that wanted to send me a base for a GM puck system because the Ford base was out of stock.
I like that this slider base is compatible with the head unit from the non slider base I have. It came very packaged with no damage. Installation was very simple. I had the misfortune of having to do a jackknife turn with my 5th wheel trailer, resulting in a smashed rear window on my truck, should have known better. This slider base will eliminate that from happening again.

This is working great, I don’t have to use it all the time but it’s great peace of mind when you need it.
Easy install and works exactly as advertised. Also arrived on time as stated on invoice.
The B&W Companion slider hitch is a a quality American made product that performs as advertised. I have always used B&W products and they never fail to disappoint, they just work!!
I bought a Ford F-250 with the 6 1/2 ft bed and was concerned about cab to fifth wheel clearance issues. I seldom have neededthe slider but it’s nice to know it’s there if I do. There is no play and the sliding mechanism locks up easily and very solidly.
I am very happy with this product!

It is still working great! Have not needed the slider again but as stated earlier, its nice to know I have it if I do need it!
I was happy to see it on the truck ..it arrived wrap like a baby ..i unbox it, installed the hitch in my f350 easy as you can get just like the video etrailer shows ,i use a little chain fall in my barn,I pick it up back under it ,one man job that way ,otherwise (you better get some help )..I had the head from my other truck ..hook up my fifth wheel, drove 10 miles came back to the house ,and it work perfect...ready for spring ,,I can't wait thanks..

I purchased a new F350 and already had a companion fifth wheel slide hitch for a B&W goose neck style connection. The new truck had factory installed four point 5th wheel hitch option installed. I was able to purchase the base and reuse my coupler for the king pin, saving over $500. Installation was easy and only took 30 minutes. I have been very impressed with the quality of the hitch and the added bonus is it's entirely US made. I can't wait to take my new setup on the road!
The B&W hitch is great. The service from etrailer was not up to expectations. “In stock” should mean all parts of the order are in stock. I received box 1 of 2 and had to call to point out that only half the order was sent. All in all, it took 3 weeks to receive my complete order, not the 4 days that was outlined during the transaction.
I actually have not used the product yet but have installed it in my my vehicle. Will be using it in February and March 2019 on a trip that was scheduled for this year and had to be canceled. I can say at this time I am very satisfied at the easy installation of this product and will be very satisfied if it performs as well as the installation worked.
I think my B & W hitch is great and wouldn't want any other kind.
Great Base, it is heavy but anything well built is. I wanted a hitch that will last. Had to purchase the OEM Ford base to fit my reese elite that was on my 3500 Chevy silverado.
Installed in minutes. Works great after hook-up with fifth wheel.
