Congrats on the new truck Bob! You can reuse the head on your B&W Companion item # BWRVK3400, however you are going to have to replace the base. There's no way to convert your current base with the square receiver to work with the puck system.

For another sliding Companion base, you'll need the Replacement Slider Base for B&W OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # BWRVB3370.

For a fixed base, you'll need the Replacement Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # BWRVB3300.

Both of these bases are going to drop right down into your new truck's factory puck system. They will give you a 20,000 lbs towing capacity.

What kind of 5th wheel trailer do you have and how long is the bed in your new truck?

Bob, I had a similar issue when I traded my 2016 with a Companion for my 2021 with the puc system. I first purchased the Ford hitch but quickly found out i could not adjust it high enough to get save bed rail clearance. Since I had the Companion still, I called Etrailer and they hooked me up with a slider base for my existing plate. Love this setup because of lots of adjustment in it. Towed 13000 plus mile to Alaska and back without issue. I also use it for my deck over with king pin rather than take it out. It is a very heavy setup for sure, but it is built. The slider makes life with a short bed much easier. Hope this helps.
