Question:

My dad received this excellent answer regarding the most economical roof-rack for a 2009 Toyota Corolla- that is found here : http://www.etrailer.com/question-97194.html My follow-up question is on how to find an economical way to reduce noise, since well be going at least 55mph for 3000 miles. Ive heard the square bars cause a lot of wind-noise that can be heard in the cabin. I want to make sure I either get the proper fit for a roof rack fairing or the properly fitting aero-dynamic bars instead of the square bars. Any recommendations?

You have two options, you can either go with an aero shaped crossbar roof rack or go with a fairing.

I believe your best option would be the Inno roof rack part # INXB100-108, # INXS200, and # INK593 that is also confirmed to fit your vehicle. This is a great priced roof rack that has aero bars that will provide you with about as quiet of a roof rack as you could get.

This option will be quieter than a square bar roof rack with a fairing.

This is a flush crossbar roof rack, meaning the crossbars mount flush to the feet of the rack instead of the through-design that will hang over the feet which will create more noise.
