Will Curt Easy Mount Bracket C58001 For 4 Way Connector Work On Receiver Without Lip 2026 Highlander

Question:

Hi, I ordered the trailer mate hitch tmt67fr from you guys for my 23 highlander, and the hitch doesn’t have a collar. Will the Curt easy mount bracket still C58001 work on hitches with no collar?

Hi there Richard, thanks for your business!

I have a solution for you, but the Curt Easy Mount Bracket # C58001 is designed to clamp around the lip/collar at the end of a 2" receiver, so I would not recommend it for the Trailer Mate # TMT67FR since that receiver does not have that style of collar. It's possible it would still get tight enough, but I wouldn't want to guarantee it!

Instead, I recommend using the Curt Mounting Bracket for 5-Way Flat Trailer Connector # C58303. This can either be drilled into the receiver with self tapping screws, or combined with the no-drill bracket # C83DR so you don't have to drill into the receiver.

One final option to look at is the Eclipse Magnetic Mounting Bracket for 4-Way Flat Trailer Connectors # 306-X6019. It doesn't require tools or hardware; it simply has a magnet to stick the receiver and the 4 way slips in there.

If you don't have a 4 way wiring kit yet, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56RV works with factory tow package, or # C59236 without tow package.
