Can The Water Temperature Be Adjusted On The Empire Faucets RV Shower Valve # EM43HR?
Updated 10/16/2026 | Published 09/30/2026 >
Question:
The plumber purchased a shower faucet from you for my mobile home. Originally there was no hot water but plenty of cold water. He installed it but now I have only lukewarm water not really acceptable. He says it cannot be adjusted which I find strange. It is the oval single handed faucet with H on one side and C on the other. I have the same faucet in my other bathroom with no issues.

Hello Lorna,
Yes, the temperature can be adjusted on the Empire Faucets RV Shower Valve and Shower Head # EM43HR. I reached out directly to Empire Faucets to confirm this, and they provided the adjustment instructions for this valve.
The valve has a factory-set maximum water temperature limit, but that setting can be changed. You will need to remove the handle and handle stem adapter. I attached an image showing this, and I used a small flathead screwdriver to carefully remove mine. I then had to remove the screw inside with a Phillips screw driver. Next, remove the cartridge housing cap by hand. Inside, you will find the temperature limit stop. Empire described this piece as red, but the one I pulled from our warehouse has a black limit stop, as shown in my attached image.
To allow a higher water temperature, pull the limit stop out, turn it clockwise slightly, and push it back onto the cartridge. Empire recommends long-nose pliers for this step, although I was able to remove mine by hand. I recommend making small adjustments at a time and testing the water temperature before adjusting it any further. Once you have it where you want it, reinstall the cartridge housing cap, stem adapter, and handle.
Empire does warn that the limit stop needs to be adjusted properly to prevent the water from becoming hot enough to cause scalding.
Final step, call your installer and educate him on how to adjust =)
Does your hot water get up to a normal hot temperature at the other faucets in your mobile home?
