Prevents You From Getting Scalded

When you're in the shower and hear someone flush the toilet or turn on the bathroom sink, an all-too familiar feeling of dread washes over you followed shortly by a sudden burst of hot water scalding your back. The spring-loaded, anti-scald temperature control valve of this assembly balances the pressure between hot and cold water to prevent the water from getting too hot so you can actually enjoy your shower and not get burned. This feature is especially great for kids, the elderly, and anyone else with sensitive skin.

How to Replace Shower Valve

To install, use the inlet shanks to drop the new valve and deck plate in place of your existing valve. Hand-tighten the included hardware against the back of the wall, and connect the hot and cold water lines. Then install the shower head onto your shower supply line. You'll need to keep some tub and tile caulk (not included) on hand to help prevent any leaking.

Video Transcript for Breaking Down the Empire Faucets RV Shower Valve and Shower Head w/ Temp Control

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at this Empire Faucets chrome, single teacup handle shower valve and shower head with temperature control. This shower valve and shower head assembly is going to let you upgrade your shower set in your RV or your camper. And the anti-scald temperature control valve is going to ensure that you do not have to worry about getting scalded in the shower when someone flushes the toilet or uses the sink. This spring-loaded, anti-scald temperature control valve of this assembly is going to balance the pressure between hot and cold water to prevent the water from getting too hot, so you won't get burned and you can actually enjoy your shower in peace.

This feature is especially great for kids, the elderly, and anyone else that might have sensitive skin. Now, this features a single handle design with a teacup style handle. And the diamond ceramic disc cartridge is maintenance free. And the durable, long-lasting discs are gonna create a water tight seal when the faucet is turned off. Now, the single function shower head can be adjusted to multiple different positions to the preference of everyone in your family.

And the rubber spray tips that you see here are easy to clean. By the way, the flow rate is 2.5 gallons per minute. Now, this is an ABS non-metallic plastic construction with a chrome finish as you can see here. And this is a wall mount three-hole installation with the included deck plate and hardware. And the inlet shanks have the standard male NPSM connections and it does require tile and tub caulk.

And, of course, that is not included with this, so that would be a separate purchase. This is WaterSense certified and ADA compliant. And I took some measurements earlier and I'm gonna put those here on the screen for you. The overall valve dimensions is going to be eight inches wide and four inches tall. And the overall depth from the base where you have this mounted all the way to the handle, we're sitting at about five inches with the overall depth.

Now, on the inlet shanks, as you can see there on the screen, the inner diameter is going to be half an inch. And the outer diameter is 13/16 of an inch. And then the distance between the shanks, center to center is six inches. And the length is right at an inch and 3/4 long on those shanks. Now, on the shower head assembly, the overall depth, and I measured from the base where it's actually gonna be connected to your wall. From the base all the way down to the end of the shower head assembly, we're sitting at about 7 3/4 inches deep. And the flange diameter is going to be 2 1/4 inches in diameter and about 3/4 of an inch deep. Now, this does have a limited lifetime warranty. And as I said, this is in a chrome finish. And the chrome finish is very nice looking, but I noticed that it does have the potential of picking up fingerprints rather easily, so you'll probably have to wipe this down from time to time to keep that nice chrome finish look. But we do have something very similar available in an oil rubbed bronze finish. There's very few differences. All of the dimensions that I gave you are the same but the shower head has a slightly different design. And that's really all that there are with the differences but basically, it's the same setup. It's just in an oil rubbed bronze finish. If that's something that you're interested in looking at, I have included the item number for that oil rubbed bronze finish on the screen. You just simply pop in that item number in the search field on our website here at etrailer.com and that will take you to that version of this product. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..

Installed it in my manufactured home and worked perfectly, the old one was leaking and stayed to cold. This one controls Tempature much better than my original one. Good thing there was a access panel to expose the pipes.

  • Solution for Empire Faucet that Leaks
Hey Shelby, yeah a trickling faucet like that does sound like a bad cartridge but we actually don't have replacements for the Empire brand of faucets. What that means is best option we have would be to replace the part # EM43HR or maybe you could remove the cartridges and take them to a local hardware store and see if they can get replacements. We don't have removal instructions though.
