Comparing Gen Y Executive To B&W 5th Wheel To Gooseneck Adapter For 2026 Alliance Valor 21K

Updated 10/07/2026 | Published 09/29/2026

Question:

I am looking between the Gen y Executive and the new BandW gooseneck adaptor. I have an 2026 Alliance Valor 44V14. Dry weight is 15,895 and empty Pin weight is 3,253 and GVWR of 21k. My question is the I see the Gen Y has higher PW rating, but I believe I would be ok with the 4.5k PW rating on the BandW. Can you confirm that? Also my trailer has the Lippert Rhino pin box. I am leaning towards the BandW but just wanting some confirmation. Thanks

Hey there Scott!

Yes, I’d be comfortable with the B&W 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # BW55RV for your Alliance Valor. It fits the Lippert Rhino bolt pattern and is rated for 25,000 lbs GTW and 4,500 lbs of pin weight.

Your dry pin weight is 3,253 lbs, so there is a decent amount of room there. That said, loaded pin weight can increase quite a bit depending on how the trailer is packed, especially with cargo stored forward of the axles. The safest way to know for sure is to weigh the trailer fully loaded for a trip and confirm the actual pin weight stays under 4,500 lbs.

The Gen-Y Executive # GY45GR is the other option for the Rhino pattern and gives you a higher 6,500-lb pin weight rating. If your loaded pin weight checks out under 4,500 lbs though, the B&W would be a solid choice. Can't go wrong with either!

Do you have any fun trips planned, or are you not traveling during the colder months coming up?
