Features to know about

Long Highway Days with Less Heat Build-Up: Advanced Dual-Layer Compound Construction

When you're pulling a heavy trailer for hours at a time, heat is one of the biggest enemies of tire life. What stands out about the RS2 is its advanced dual-layer compound design. The internal compound is engineered to help reduce operating temperatures and improve efficiency, while the application-specific outer compound is designed for the demands of trailer use. It's the kind of feature you appreciate when you're covering serious miles and want your tires running cooler along the way.

Extra Confidence Under Heavy Loads: Load Range H with 4,805-lb Capacity

If you're towing equipment, cargo, or a larger trailer, load capacity matters. This 215/75R17.5 tire carries up to 4,805 lbs at 125 psi and features a 16-ply rating (Load Range H). That higher-capacity design gives you the confidence to haul substantial loads without feeling like you're pushing your tires to their limits.

Fewer Tread Wear Surprises: Micro-Siped Grooves for More Even Wear

Nothing is more frustrating than seeing uneven wear show up long before you expected it. The RS2 uses micro siping in its major tread grooves to help reduce irregular wear patterns. For trailer owners who put a lot of miles on their rigs, that means the tread stays more consistent across the tire and helps maximize usable tread life.

Better Control in Heavy Rain: Four Wide Water-Evacuation Channels

Towing in wet weather demands a tire that can move water effectively. The RS2 uses four large circumferential grooves to channel water away from the contact patch, helping maintain traction in rainy conditions. Whether you're heading to a campground or hauling equipment through a summer storm, the tread design is built to handle wet roads with more confidence.

Protection Against Road Hazards and Curb Contact: Reinforced Trailer Tire Construction

Trailer tires take abuse from potholes, curbs, and road debris that tow vehicle tires often avoid. The RS2 addresses those challenges with a protector ply that helps resist crown punctures, a four-belt package for casing stability, and a thick sidewall composition that helps guard against curb damage. Combined, these features create a tire that's designed specifically for the realities of trailer towing rather than everyday passenger vehicle use.

Clean Custom Look Without Giving Up Trailer Capability: Phoenix Black and Machined Aluminum Wheel

Lionshead Aluminum Wheels with Steel Lug-Nut Inserts

A lot of trailer wheels either look basic or feel out of place next to a well-maintained tow rig. The Phoenix aluminum wheel combines a black finish with machined accents to give your trailer a more polished, custom appearance. Pressed-in steel inserts in the lug nut wells prevent wear in the aluminum and keep your torque consistent over time. It's a design that helps stop the holes from enlarging and keeps the wheel locked firmly on your hub for the long term.

Determining Bolt Pattern

Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are (also called bolt holes)
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Bolt Pattern - Even
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Bolt Pattern - Odd

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Video Transcript for Review of Uniroyal Trailer Tires and Wheels - Tire with Wheel - UR52PR

Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer. It's hard to see me, right We're looking at a big Uniroyal. It's an RS2 215 75 by 17 and a half tire and with a nice 17 and a half inch black aluminum Phoenix wheel. Folks, this has an eight lug, so it's an eight on six and a half inch lug pattern. And again, folks, this is the Lion's Head Uniroyal by Michelin. It is a 215 75 17.5 tire.

And again, that Phoenix aluminum wheel. So as you can see, very nice. You got that sleek black, which is that machined aluminum finish on the front. And again, they've paired that with this very nice tire. Let me go back to the side here so you can see that tread pattern.

And folks, if you're towing something big like a heavy fifth wheel toy hauler or your equipment trailer, these tires are going to be great because your tires are the one area you don't want to cut corners with, trust me. Blowouts, excessive heat, worn out tires, that can ruin your day really quickly. Take it from me, I've had it happen personally twice over the years. It's not fun. I mean, obviously having a backup is better than nothing, but sitting on the side of the road with the trailer camper is very, very scary at times.

So this tire wheel combo is built to hopefully eliminate those things. It's a heavy duty tire. It does use a radial tire construction and that's going to help reduce heat buildup, improve tread life and deliver a smoother ride compared to many older Biasply trailer tires that you're probably used to that you've seen out there on the road. Now I do want to come from the back here and talk about this lug pattern. So again, it's an eight, so eight holes on a six and a half inch pattern that makes it compatible again with many heavy duty trailer axles.

They do also feature pressed in steel inserts. So in the lug well there, you have those pressed in inserts. And what that's going to do is that steel is a design that's going to help stop the holes from enlarging or elongating over time. It's also going to help that wheel stay locked firmly onto your hub for a long period of time as well. And if you're curious, that center cap diameter here for the center hole is 4.9 inches. So again, folks, we're pairing this Phoenix aluminum wheel with a nice Uniroyal tire. This is the tire wheel combo. I'm Steve with etrailer, As always, thanks for watching and stay safe while you're towing.

Was on time and easy to track. We needed this to get to a campground that we are only at for a week, so kind of a big deal. I got disc brakes on my 5th wheel and my spare didn't work anymore. Now I have 5 matching wheels and tires. Thanks!
