What is Best Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter for 2026 Forest River Wildwood Heritage

Question:
I am considering a 5th Wheel pin box gooseneck adapter. I would like to know ETrailers recommendation for a Lippert 1621 Replacement for a 16K 2026 FR Wildwood Heritage 376FAM. I tow with a 2025 GMC 2500 HD and the BandW Companion slider. I have not ever needed the slider for any clearance. Looking to cut payload, increase ride smoothness.

Hey Kendall, we have just what you are looking for with the MORryde GooseTech fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter part # MR97MV. This is the correct fit to replace your Lippert 1621 pin box and has the correct weight rating as well. But the main reason I recommended it is because of all of the cushioned gooseneck adapters this is the one we have heard back provides the best cushioning like you asked about. Does your truck have the OEM gooseneck hitch? Do you have a ball for it already? This will give you exactly what you are wanting though as it will give you a smoother ride quality with less weight in your bed.

Jameson Thank you for the reply, I appreciate the response. I will look into this product more. I have a B&W turn-over ball installed in my truck. Follow up questions: Do you know how this product would impact the current pin weight of the trailer? In other words, does the full weight of this product where it is at the pin contribute to the pin weight? Followup #2; I am considering this gooseneck conversion option vs. maintaining the current Lippert Pin Box and using an Anderson Ultimate 5th wheel hitch. I am thinking the Anderson set up is better overall for payload, but the ride would be very similar to my current B&W Companion set up.

I switched to MorRyde Goosetech with a GenY 5" offset ball. Pull truck 2020 GMC 2500 standard bed. No problem turning radius. Like having my bed back and weight loss.
