Replacing a Broken Wheel Stud on a 1968 Airstream Globetrotter

Question:
HI, 1968 Airstream Globetrotter single axle. A Wheel stud broke and I cant replace it as the metal plate for brakes is covering the hole for the wheel stud. I think I need to buy a new hub. How do I know what size to buy? Dexter brand is what is on there originally.

Hey Chuck.
Those Airstreams are incredible, not surprised its lasted this long. However, have you tried removing the hub/drub assembly from the spindle? The backing plate should stay attached to the axle as the hub comes off. This should give you access to the back of the broken stud so it can be punched out.
If you have already tried this to no avail, then I'm happy to help you find a hub. I'll need the inner and outer bearing numbers (EX. L68149), which you find stamped on the casing of the bearing. Along with the bolt pattern (EX 6 on 5-1/2") please.
How long have you had the Globetrotter?
