Trailer Valet XL with Dexter XR84 Surge Brake Lockout

I am looking at purchasing a trailer valet XL to move my boat around. It has the Dexter xr84 actuator tongue on it. Is there a way to lock the actuator hitch forward so it does not push back and lock my brakes up when I am trying to back my boat trailer around?

Hi Ryan! Yes, you can use the Replacement Consumer Lockout Key for Dexter Axle Brake Actuators, part # DX94FR, with your Dexter XR84 surge brake actuator. The lockout prevents the surge actuator from compressing and applying the trailer brakes while you are backing your boat trailer with the Trailer Valet XL part # TVXL2. Great choice on the trailer valet by the way!

Hey Shane, for a Dexter A-60 coupler we do have a replacement manual lockout with the part #DX94FR. Your actuator should have came with one but it may have been misplaced.
