Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a look at this two-inch hitch ball with base for the Trailer Valet XL trailer dolly. Now this two-inch hitch ball with ball base, for the Trailer Valet XL trailer dolly specifically, model number TVXL25, let's you quickly and easily change the hitch ball on your dolly, giving you the ability to move trailers with different coupler sizes. This coupling plate is going to ensure a tight connection to your coupler, preventing damage from excess force. This is a rugged steel construction with a zinc-nickel plating to help resist rust and corrosion. And this is going to be a simple installation. You would just install with the wide edge of the coupling plate facing the trailer dolly, and then you would use the included tightening tool to tighten this down.
So you just attach it to one of these holes and use this tool to tighten it down to make sure that you have a secure fit. And then you would line the holes up here at the base with the attachment holes on the dolly. And this includes a cotter pin to secure this to your tow dolly. Now this does have a capacity of 1000 pounds. And that is going to conclude our look today.

It doesn’t fit , I sent a message to them and nobody responded.

Can you tell me which Trailer Valet model you have?
I’m adding this to a DYI power dolly project, and it works perfect. I looked at several options, and I can say this was a solid choice!

This 2 inch ball and base allows me to use the Trailer Valet XL for my boat trailer and my travel trailer. It is the only way I can effectively move them where I want to by myself. Great tools!!!

Product continues to be a 5 star. I use it several times a year with my boat and trailer and move them exactly where I want them. Folks stop and ask how I can get the trailer so close to the garage. I tell them I have a Valet!
This part did not work for my travel trailer. It kept slipping off the ball. I ended up buying the part which directly connects the trailer valet to the trailer and it worked much better.

I contacted the manufacturer. If you are installing the ball with the unit on there, the units weight will be pulling the ball down which would cause you to not install the ball correctly. In order to have the ball installed tight and secure, you can try installing just the ball and base into your coupler, making sure the coupling plate is flush with your coupler. Once the ball is tightly secured, you can then attach the unit. Please note, that if there is a gap between your coupler and the coupling plate, the ball is not tightly secured which will cause the ball to slip during usage.
The device is well constructed and does what it is supposed to do. I dinged 1 star because it comes with the ball not torqued into the base and it's design makes it difficult to hold and tighten.
My order arrived quickly and was well packaged. A very easy install to replace the 2 5/16 inch ball I had on my trailer dolly XL. The only ting I had to do was tighten the ball down. It would have been a little easier if the ball was already tightened, but a large crescent wrench got the job done. I’m very happy with my purchase of this product.
Hello, Recently I ordered a Trailer Valet 2" Trailer Dolly Ball with Base.
When I opened the package which arrived on time the ball that was shipped was a
2 5/16 ball instead of the 2" ball that was ordered. Shortly after receiving the package I contacted E.Trailer by phone and explained the error. After checking original order details the E.trailer rep sent a return authorization label with postage prepaid and also stated E.trailer will sending me the correct ball the same day. I received the Ball/Base 3 days later.
I was very impressed by the courteous help E.trailer provided in correcting the

This is our second time to order from eTrailer and the experience was very good both times.
This product was unfortunately out of stock when our order was made but eTrailer kept us inform with emails as to when the manufacturer would possibly have it available, when they would possibly have it in stock and when it would be shipped. I really appreciate this info instead of trying to call or email to find out about our order.
The product was exactly what we needed to work with our Trailer Valet.

The trailer dolly came with a 2 5/16” ball. This is just as solid for moving the small trailer around. Time to delivery was excessive due to supply chain issues beyond etrailer’s control.
Ordered a 2 inch ball and adapter for my Trailer Valet so I could move my smaller boat. Getting old and tired of pushing it by hand. Should have done this a long time ago. GREAT SERVICE from e-Trailer as always.......
With the included lock washer, the outer collar does not go high enough for a tight fit to any of my 2" ball trailers. I would need another baseplate; or leave out the lock washer and use some Loc-Tite when installing the ball. Since I won't be towing with it, I just left out the lock washer. Works fine that way.
I have a trailer valet with a 25/16 ball and coupler and needed a 2” ball and coupler and purchased one from etrailer and it fit perfect on my valet.

Product arrived and works great. The key is to definitely get the trailer hitch secured properly. Once you do that it works like a champ!!
