No, your 2024 Toyota Tacoma SR5 does not need a Redarc Encapsulated Power Diode # RED34FR for the install of your Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness # RED52VR. The diode is meant prevent 12V feedback through a sensitive stop-light circuit. That has been an issue on some Toyota applications such as certain Highlanders, but it doesn't seem to be an issue with the 2024 Tacoma SR5 from the feedback we've received. You'll be okay to purchase just the # RED52VR by itself, but don't forget the Universal Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controller Control Knob # 331-TPSI-001 to give your controller a factory look.
