Parts Needed to Add 7-Way and Brake Controller to 2012 Toyota Tacoma

Hi I want to get ETBC7 and RED52VR and DIY install into 2012 Tacoma w/o a tow package. I want to have auxilary power to my trailer. Do these two kits contain everything I need? Do I need additional wires for auxilary or to go from brake controller to battery?

Hey Owen! Do you already have a 4-way on your Tacoma? If you don't, you will also need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55513. Then you will upgrade to a 7-way using the # ETBC7 which will allow you to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED52VR.
The # ETBC7 includes wiring for the brake controller and the 12V power on the 7-way. This version of the Liberty comes with the universal wiring harness, so unless you want the mounting panel # 331-TPSI-002 for your Tacoma that is everything to complete your setup.

Have been towing RV's for well over 40 years, when it comes to the best all around brake controller the Redarc pro is one of the best i have ever used, once installed set the bias and never think about it again, but just a heads up when you switch to a light trailer turn it down otherwise it will lock the tires. I pull my 18k 5er, than switch to my 8k equipment trailer an it works just as smooth as on either one, for the money it is the best choice.

The harness has an aux electric wire. This is used to charge the breakaway battery or anything else you might wish power for. Robin replied to you question with the harness you will need, my experience has always been positive with the help from etrailer! Tim
