Were My Tires Balanced Before Shipping?

Updated 08/28/2026 | Published 08/22/2026

Question:

We just received our new tires. They look great. Thank you! Info says mounted and ready to roll bolt on and go. Should we assume the balancing of each tire was verified before shipment? Thank You

Hey Kristine!

Glad to hear the new tires arrived and look great!

The tire and wheel assemblies do come ready to bolt on and use, but trailer tires are typically balanced a little differently than passenger vehicle tires. Instead of being spin-balanced with wheel weights, the manufacturer matches the heavier point of the tire with the lighter point of the wheel to help balance the assembly.

So they are balanced as part of the mounting process, just not necessarily spin-balanced like you may be used to seeing at an automotive tire shop.

If you'd like, you can still have them spin-balanced locally. Just keep in mind that some tire shops may not have the proper equipment or adapters for trailer wheels.

What kind of trailer are you installing these on?
