Question:

purchased a 31 2018 Forest River Artic Wolf and it came with a MORyde part RSPB83-1622. I drive a 2023 GMC 2500HD with a 69 bed with OEM puck/lock installed. What hitch is recommended? Do I need a sliding hitch?

Hey Chad! The MORryde pin box on your 2018 Forest River Arctic Wolf is a rotating pin box so you do not need a sliding 5th wheel hitch. I recommend using the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3710.

The Companion will fit the OEM puck system in your truck and the pin box will give you the clearance you need when turning. B&W makes really great products and offers great support, and the Companion is one of the best hitches on the market. Overall you're going to have a really nice setup for a great towing experience.

Hi Chad, congrats, I really think you will like that rig. It's a great setup. As far as the hitch goes, Like above, I don't believe you will need a slider hitch. You can't go wrong with the one mentioned above. It's the same exact hitch I purchased a little over a year ago and I totally love it. You can't go wrong by adding a lube plate also, That way you never have to deal with grease. I hope this helps and Happy Camping friend!!!

@TedW thanks for sharing your experience with the Companion! Glad to hear you've been happy with it. Good call on the lube plate too. The Curt Lube Plate # 16721 is a great addition to keep things clean and eliminate the need to grease the skid plate.

Chad, I also purchased this hitch about 2-1/2 years ago. I have a 24 GMC 3500 with a 6’-9” bed towing a 23 Grand Design Reflection 367bh and have not had any problems. The hitch sits farther back in the bed than It did on my Ford. I had the slider hitch for the Ford and used it sometimes out of precaution. If you use your truck like I do to haul stuff I never keep the hitch in my truck. The slide hitch is heavy and big to put in and out of the truck by yourself. The non slider is much lighter and easy to take in and out. If you will leave it in your truck then the slider might be nice if you are ever in a tight spot but might never need to use it.

Hey Chad, I have basically the same setup, I have a '24 GMC 3500 w/OEM puck system and a 2023 Forest River Arctic Fox 38' fifth wheel. GM puck systems are placed slightly farther back in the bed compared to Ford (I think this is because of the different wheelbase, GM rear axle is about 12" further back), no need for a slider. I have made some very tight turns without issue. We camp with a pretty big crew, and they are all buying the B&W as their next hitches - so far 4 of us have this same hitch.
