Question:

I want to verify that the RVK3710 is the right BandW Companion OEM fifth wheel hitch for my 2026 Silverado 2500 HD crew cab with a standard bed measuring 6.75 feet or 81 inches with the dealer option 4-puck fifth wheel prep.

Hey Steve, thanks for reaching out. Yes, you are on the right track. The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3710 is the correct fit for your 2026 Chevy Silverado 2500 with the factory 4 puck prep package.

This is the fixed, non slider version that drops directly into the OEM puck system, so there is no need for additional rails or adapters. It is commonly recommended for long bed trucks, but your 6.75' standard bed is also compatible.

In most cases, a slider is not required with a 6.75' bed as long as your fifth wheel has a modern tapered or rounded front cap designed for turning clearance. Many newer campers are built this way. If your trailer has a square front nose, then a slider would be something to consider.

The # BWRVK3710 will install directly into your factory pucks and give you a quiet, solid connection. B and W hitches are known for their tight fit and minimal chucking.

What kind of camper will you be hauling?

Jesse: Thanks! I had always thought that model was the right fit for my truck and 6.75’ bed but then saw a few stray pieces of info talking about it being the right fit IF you have an 8’ bed. Looking at a new or newer trailer with a rounded or tapered front end so I’ll be good! Thanks again!

@Steve Ok yes you are good the puck system footprint is identical in the new Chevy trucks regardless of the bed length. The fixed hitch will work great with that setup. Feel free to reach out if you ever need anything else!

Steve, I have the fixed base B & W hitch in my 2024 Silverado 6.75' bed. I'm towing a Grand Design Reflection. I think if I was towing a wide body trailer I would see the need for a slider, but for the 8' width, it works just fine. The B & W is an excellent product. It has just enough adjustability without becoming complex. The smoothness of my setup is outstanding.

We bought the B&WRVB3710 hitch for or 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500HD 8' bed with the puck system and it slid right down into the factory pucks. Being the hitch is in two pieces it is much easier for this 67 year old to install and remove when needed. My only wish would be that if the release handle was longer I wouldn't need a step stool to set or remove the pin.

@Mike Hey Mike, thanks for sharing! Glad to hear you are liking your B&W hitch. It is nice being able to separate the base from the head so easily - makes it much easier to install and remove. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback!

Steve, This would be a hitch I’d highly recommend ..Rugged, well designed, and user friendly . We haul a 35’ Grand Design with our 2020 Chevy High Country 3500 Dually. No chucking, easy install into the factory pucks, allows plenty of camper to cab clearance. You won’t be disappointed.
