What Size Pipe Does the LaSalle Bristol UniGuard Waterless P-Trap part # LSB24FR Fit?

Updated 10/15/2026 | Published 08/13/2026

Question:

Can you pls check below technical issues on the UniGuard valves and fittings? 1 Is model 65UGA2 compatible with both 1-1/2inch and 1-1/4inch pipes? 2 Could you confirm the actual pipe size suitable for your 1-1/2inch UNIGUARD products? 3 What thread type do these products use BSPP, BSPT, or NPT? 4 Apart from ICC-ES, do you hold any other certifications or compliance statements e.g., NSF, FDA, REACH, ROHS, CUPC, WATERMARK, WRAS? Thanks for supporting

Hi Anny,

1. The Uniguard Elbow Kit part # 65UGA2 is not compatible with 1 1/4" pipes, it's a dedicated 1 1/2" fitting. If you need to fit the UniGuard to a 1 1/4" pipe, they make a reducing slip joint washer that can connect the 1 1/2" pipe to a 1 1/4" pipe. LaSalle's part number for that is 651765TPRU and we don't currently carry it, but its available on their site.

2. The LaSalle Bristol UniGuard draing valve and P-trap systems all work with 1 1/2" plumbing pipe connections.

3. The UniGuard Waterless P-Trap part # LSB24FR uses National Pipe Standard threads (NPT).

4. Those standards apply to a particular material or manufacturer so as a third party retailer we likely don't have those certifications but the manufacturer, LaSalle Bristol, does.

Are you wanting to use the UniGuard P-trap in an RV or in a home?

Dear Claire, Thanks for your revert. The Uniguard valves and fittings requested by our client who is in the RV (recreational vehicle) business and the final product will be used in the U.S. market. I'm counfused on the plumbing pipe connection. Are you referring to pipes with smooth outer walls, like PVC or PEX, or pipes with male threads on one end? Pls kindly check and advise. Thanks so much for your support. Regards Anny

@AnnyJ The top connection of the UniGuard has female internal threads that screw directly onto the bottom of the sink's drain basket or threaded tailpiece. The bottom connection, the slip joint, has smooth wall and seals using a rubber washer and tightening nut. It is not compatible with PVC, PEX, CPVC, or flexible vinyl water supply tubing because it can't handle pressurized fresh water.

@AnnyJ Our application for this waterless trap is to add a washing machine to our Imagine travel trailer. We used a typical laundry wall box and PVC pipe to plumb the washer drain. We ran it through the underbelly and up converted the 1.5" pipe to a standard RV gate valve and on the driver's side for sewer connection convenience. Of course we need the gate valve open while the washer is running. We also learned that if the hose connected to the gate valve has a dip and holds water, the the waterless trap does not seem to work as expected and the washing machine displays an error. Simple solution is to have a slope in the hose. Let me know if you have questions. Thanks

I just installed the waterless P-Trap and it came with the 1-1/4 reducing washer which I used on the tailpiece

@Ryan Awesome! How do you think it's been working so far? Any drain odors coming through?
