Hello Richard, thanks for reaching out. The UniGuard Waterless P-Trap for RV Sewer Systems # LSB24FR can be installed vertically, horizontally or anywhere in between. The main part of the trap has a silicone bladder, and it does matter which way the bladder is facing. You want the open end of the bladder closest to the water source. That way it opens when water is flowing thru and then closes when the water stops. This prevents odor from coming back up the pipe. Take a look at the picture I included. It shows the opening in the bladder, and you can kind of see how it works. Basically, the way his finger is pointing is the direction you want the water to flow. It would not matter which part of the bladder is on top or bottom necessarily, as long as it is facing the right direction.
I hope this helps.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to assist.

Richard

Jesse, thanks for above answer about the direction that the uniguard should be installed. My question is for horizontal installation how should the uniguard be oriented, with the “closed” end of the bladder at the top or bottom? I would think bottom but can you confirm please and thanks! Richard
