Updated 08/13/2026 | Published 08/09/2026

Question:

Good morning....I just want to confirm that this 10in hitch can be used as a rise hitch?....my rv hitch is about 10 inches lower than my flat tow vehicles jeep connection points so I need a rise.

Hey Christopher, yes the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM23SR that you referenced can be used in the rise position so it will be exactly what you are looking for since you need a 10 inch rise.

Yes, I have this exact hitch that pulls double duty. It is used to simultaneously accommodate a flat tow trailer and a bike carrier. It also is used for a military dump trailer which requires a 10" rise relative to my flat tow trailer.

I am using the 10 in riser on my motorhome to carry my bike rack and flat tow my jeep. It is 10in center hole to center hole. I tested with just the bike rack and jeep on a local drive with a spotter. Had plenty of room on the turns. I just drove on a 2k trip with two e-bikes on the rack and the jeep in tow with no issues.

I purchased this riser for my moterhome more than two years ago. We have traveled more than five thousand miles, in winter and summer, towing a tow dolly & car with two electric bicycles on the upper receiver and never had a problem or concern. It's solid and reliable. The riser reciever is high enough to make hooking and unhooking the tow dolly & car easy while leaving the bikes on the upper receiver bike rack. I highly recommend it.
