Question:

Need ALCO hub and electric brake assembly for Horse Trailer. Hub has a 0183 and Max Dia 12.090 stamped on it. I think it’s a 7,000lb hub

Hey Jonathan!

Those markings on your AL-KO hub aren't part numbers, but the "Max Dia 12.090" indicates that you have a 12" hub. You can replace your hub with the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 5.2K - 7K Axles - 12" - 8 on 6.5 - Pre-Greased # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K. This 12"x2" hub will be a great replacement on a 7,000 lbs. axle and perfectly compatible with 12" brakes.

For the electric brakes, you will need our etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left/Right Hand - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-SA. These brakes will go hand-in-hand with the # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K and they're self-adjusting, so once they're installed and bedded in, you won't need to worry about maintaining them yourself.

Are you hauling show horses or moving them for a long haul? How often are you towing the trailer?
