Question:

I have a Dometic 651815.301j0 HP 13,500 btuh ducted which needs to be replaced. Control center 2 thermostat. A very quiet unit is necessary. heat pump not necessary. would like 15,000 or 18,000 btuh. connection to existing thermostat is nice but not critical. i have a second unit that works. Can you please give me a couple of options for a replacement unit? thanks

Thanks for reaching out. Based on what you're looking for, I recommend the Coleman-Mach Everest Variable Speed RV Air Conditioner System - 18,000 Btu - White # CM35MR. It gives you a nice bump in cooling capacity over your existing 13,500 Btu unit, and it doesn't have a heat pump if that's not something you need. Since your current system uses a Dometic CCC2 thermostat, there isn't a direct plug-and-play option that will work with those controls, so plan on replacing the controls with the Coleman components included with the system.

The Everest is one of the quietest rooftop A/C units available thanks to its variable-speed inverter compressor. Instead of cycling on and off at full speed like a traditional air conditioner, it ramps the compressor and fan up and down to match the cooling demand. That makes it noticeably quieter, keeps the temperature more consistent, reduces power consumption, and puts less wear on the compressor over time. If quiet operation is at the top of your list, this is the unit I recommend.
