Hey Joe!

I asked our Product Development team for a little more info on this for you and the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar for 2.5" Hitch Receivers # e55YV reducer is yellow zinc coated steel and just to add a little more info, the anti-rattle part is powder coated steel. Both of these coatings will hold up really well to rust and corrosion.

This model is brand new, but I've have the 2" version (etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar for 2" Hitch Receivers # e38FV) on my personal vehicle for about a year and it was a really great addition to my bike rack setup to stop the wobble and creaking. It will secure a ball mount to stop rattling as well, so you're perfectly fine to use it with your travel trailer. There are no weight limitations on the reducer, but the anti-rattle collar has a weight limit of 10,000 lbs.

What is the weight rating of your travel trailer? Are you in a state that is near salt water or uses a lot of salt during the winter?

I have a Lance TT model 2375 with a GVWD of 8900. My tow rig is a 2024 F250 lariat with the 7.3L gas engine and I am using the Curt WDH with the sway control. I thought I read that this product is not available for my type of set up ?. Thanks Joe Parker

@Joe The # e55YV is a great option for eliminating hitch movement in most towing setups, but it isn't compatible with weight distribution hitches. The spring bars on your WDH are constantly applying significant twisting and leverage forces to the hitch shank. The # e55YV isn't designed to handle those additional loads, so using it with a weight distribution hitch could damage the collar over time. You're not completely out of luck, though. Since you're using a weight distribution hitch, I recommend the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-062. It's designed specifically for use with weight distribution systems, so it will help eliminate the receiver rattle without affecting the performance of your WDH. What kind of Curt weight distribution hitch are you using?
