Will Demco Autoslide Work With Locked Out Lippert Turning Point On Grand Design
Updated 08/03/2026 | Published 07/21/2026 >
Question:
I have a Demco 13k autoslide. We are buying a grand design 5th wheel with a turning point pin box. As long as it is in the fixed position pin box wont rotate am I good to hitch up and go? That is my understanding at this time. Or do I need something else? Just want to be sure.

Hey Tim, welcome back! Yes, as long as the Turning Point pin box is installed in the locked-out (fixed) position, it functions just like a standard pin box. Your Demco Autoslide will provide the turning clearance, so you can hitch up and tow normally. It looks like you went ahead and picked up the Demco Autoslide Locking Plate for Lippert Turning Point # DM77GV, so with that installed you'll be all set.
Where are you headed first with your Grand Design?

Why do I need the locking plate? I ordered it "Just in case". Won't the pin box fit between the capture plates on my hitch? Do i need to use the locking plate? I don't understand its purpose if the plates on top of the hitch hold the pin box and keep the pin from turning. Kentucky for a few days mid-August, then South Haven for a week after labor day.
