Parts Needed to Go From Atwood Water Heater to Dometic

Published 07/13/2026

Question:

Good afternoon, I recently purchased a used Dometic WH-6GEA water heater to replace my older Atwood G6A-7, and I’m looking for some guidance to ensure I have everything needed for the installation. Based on my research, I believe I will need the following items: * DMC24FR Conversion Kit * DMC69MR Panel Switch Could you please confirm whether these are the only additional components required for the upgrade, or if there are any other parts, or accessories I should purchase before beginning the installation? Thank you for your time and assistance. I appreciate any guidance you can provide.

Hey Tom, yes all you would need to install the Dometic water heater you just got would be the Double-Panel On/Off Switch for Dometic Gas / Electric Combination Water Heaters # DMC69MR and the # DMC24FR and you'd be set. You wouldn't need to go with any additional components beyond that to complete the install. How did you like the Atwood water heater.
