Question:

Im looking to purchase a brake controller for my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500HD diesel. My trailer has two axles and is used for hauling antique tractors. Trailer is rated for 14K. What model do you recommend? Thanks

Hi David,

I recommend using the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller part # RED52VR for towing your trailer with your 2005 Ram 2500 Diesel. It works with trailers up to two axles and is compatible with electric and electric over hydraulic brake set ups. The Tow-Pro is a knob that easily mounts into your dash, so you don't have to worry about accidentally bumping into it in the cab. It is easy adjusted by turning the knob and uses lights to let you know when it's applying the brakes to the trailer. If your truck doesn't have a 7-way already installed on it, you'll need to add Curt T-Connect wiring kit part # C55504 to get a 4-way flat and then the Universal Installation Kit for Brake Controllers part # ETBC7. The ETBC7 will give you a 4 and 7-way connector and the necessary wiring to run the power and brake signal back to the 7-way. Once you've got the wiring installed, you can use the Universal Mounting Panel for Redarc Brake Controllers part # 331-TPSI-001 to mount the knob into the dash.

If you already have factory wiring, you'll just need the brake controller and the mounting panel. The Tow-Pro Liberty comes with a universal pigtail that you can use to splice into the truck's wiring in the dash to install it.

Do you sell antique tractors, or do you just transport them?
