Will Trailer Tires Run Cooler with More Air Pressure

Question:
I have 20.5 8 load e tires it says they will hold 90 pounds of air will they run cooler with max air in them I will be pulling 3000 pounds
asked by: Tom
Expert Reply:
They will run cooler. In fact, trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire. This is because trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall compared to passenger vehicle tires. If a trailer tire is under inflated that thicker sidewall will generate excessive heat and cause tire failure. I have included a link to our informational article on trailer tires for you.
