Do I Need to Replace The Stems in GY57QB For Use With TPMS System

Hi there, I just purchased your Goodyear Endurancfe ST Radial Tires with 14 inch aluminum wheels and I was was thinking of adding TPMS sensors to the tires. I take the trailer down to baja. Do I need to replace the stems with either high pressure stems or metal? Corrosion in Baja is a factor for metal and I am not sure if aluminum rims and metal stems are compatible. Thank you

Hey Paolo,
The TST TPMS for RVs - Color Display - Signal Booster - 4 Tire SQensors # TST-507-RV-4-C is able to be used on rubber, steel, chrome, or nickel valve stems, so the stem included on Goodyear Endurance ST205/75R14 Radial Tire w/ 14" Eagle Aluminum Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - LR D # GY57QB is compatible with your setup. The stem included with the wheel is a high pressure rubber valve stem, so it's the perfect fit for you.
You are always welcome to change out that stem to a metal stem if that's what your setup calls for. For a metal stem, you can go with Americana Metal, Bolt-In Valve Stem - 1-1/4" Long # AM20906. The wheel has a special coating on the face to protect the metal of the stem from corrosion when wet, and the stem's rubber grommet protects the back side of the wheel. You'll have no worries, this stem is perfectly compatible and is built to be corrosion resistant with your wheel!

I would highly recommend adding the TPMS system. I added it to our fifth wheel trailer before our recent trip to the Pacific NW. We put on 5,200miles on the trip. We had a wheel bearing get hot and I could see on the TPMS that the one wheel kept getting hotter and hotter. Fortunately, we were able to pull off the next exit where they had a truck repair shop to get it fixed.
