Will etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar Fit Bumper With D-Rings

Hi I’d like to use this towbar to flat tow my Land Cruiser that has a D-ring bumper. It looks like there is conflicting information on whether you can do that with this e94ZR bar. What do you recommend? The Land Cruiser weighs around 7500 lbs. Towing with 2010 Gulf Stream superMax

Hi Ryan! The etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e94ZR won't fit the # RM-035-1 (1" thick shackle) or # RM-035 (3/4" thick shackle) as is. However, it can be modified so the two work together. Our tow bar shares the same design as the Demco, which requires extra bushings (picked up locally) to work with these D-ring adapters.
Just like Demco, we don't officially recommend this setup but there are people out there running it for flat towing. The best option would be to stick with a Roadmaster tow bar like the Falcon 3HD # RM27NQ which is directly compatible with the adapters. Also, you need to make sure that bumper is rated for flat towing. Having the D-rings does not automatically mean it can be used to tow your Land Cruiser.
