Can I Use More Than Two Spacers with SumoSprings TSS-107-40 on My Trailer?

Published 06/17/2026

Question:

Sumosprings TSS-107-40. Two spacers with the spring are not tall enough for the spring to contact my trailer frame. 2019 Nash 24m trailer. Am I able to install more than the two spacers that come with the springs? I may need to install up to 4 spacers per spring. Is this ok and if yes, what is the part number to order just the spacers

Hello Mark,

Thanks for writing in.

Yes, it is possible to add additional spacers to the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-107-40 if the included spacers do not provide enough height for the spring to make proper contact with the trailer frame. However, SumoSprings does not offer a separate replacement or add-on spacer kit for this application that I was able to verify.

In situations where additional height is needed, the Timbren spacer # A25723-90AH00 is a great choice! If extra spacers are added, it is important to make sure the mounting hardware is long enough to safely accommodate the increased stack height. I attached a picture from one of our neighbors (customers) showing the use of 2 spacers.

How many inches of a gap do you still have?

The gap between the leaf spring and the frame is about 7 inches while the sumo spring two spacers and attachment hardware is about 6 and 1/2 in. As the Springs are being installed on a trailer are supposed to always be in contact with the frame with approximately 1/4 to 1/2 in compression sitting on level ground. With that I'm thinking I would need two additional spacers per spring.

@Mark I spoke with Supersprings and they want you to call them directly for the correct spacers. I will send you a direct email with the number to call.
