Can The Furrion Power Adapter FR87PR Be Used With The Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller C51180?

Updated 06/18/2026 | Published 06/13/2026

Question:

Hello! I have a 25 RP-190 and my tow vehicle is a 25 Chevy Blazer. Pretty sure I need the FD87PR adapter for my Furrion Vision S camera to work properly. My question is, I also use the Curt 51180 wireless brake controller. Will these two work together? Thanks, Bob

Hey Bob, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the # FR87PR adapter can be used along with the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180. We've had customers use this combination successfully without any reported interference between the camera system and the brake controller.

For the best setup, I'd recommend plugging the Curt Echo directly into the vehicle's 7-way connector, then plugging the Furrion adapter into the back of the Echo. The Echo uses an internal inertia sensor to determine when and how much braking force to apply, so it works best when it's mounted securely at the vehicle connection point rather than hanging off the end of an adapter. This arrangement helps ensure both the brake controller and your Furrion Vision S camera system perform as intended.

Will you be using the Vision S primarily for backing into campsites, or are you planning to use it as a rear observation camera while towing as well?

Thanks for the reply. I'll be using it primarily for backing into tight spots or seeing my "blind spot".

@Bob Ok awesome! I'm sure that'll make backing up a lot less stressful. You know where to find me if you ever need anything else!

I used it to connect our Mercedes gls 450 to a winnebago micro minnie travel trailer. For some reason directly hooking to our car would only connect intermittently. the adapter solved the problem.

Plug in the Brake Controller: Insert the wireless brake controller directly into the factory 7-way receiver on your Chevy. Attach the Furrion Adapter. Plug the Furrion power adapter into the back of the wireless brake controller. Connect the Trailer: Connect your trailer's 7-way plug into the back of the Furrion adapter

@Jb Yep! That's exactly how I would do it. Thanks for the tip!
