Is There Taller B and W Gooseneck Hitch Ball for Turnoverball Gooseneck

Updated 06/16/2026 | Published 06/12/2026

Question:

I just switched over from a Pin Box to a Morryde GooseTech Goosebox. I have a standard BW gooseball kit. My trailer sits much lower now than with the pin box. Consequently I only have 5” of clearance between the truck bed rails and the trailer. That seems too close for me. Does BandW or any other manufacturer make a taller goose ball that would give me more clearance at the bed rails? Thank you HK

Hey Henry, B and W does have a taller gooseneck ball that fits their Turnoverball gooseneck hitches like what you have with the part # BWGNXA2050. This will give you an additional 1 inch of ball height. Could you also unbolt the Goosetech and install it in a lower set of mounting holes? That would help too if that's possible.

I looked for another B&W turnover ball for my Companion Flatbed Fifth Wheel Hitch (RVK3050) that would give me additional clearance out of my flatbed's hitch channel. I was hoping for a turnover ball with a 2" lift, but my only choice was the B&W 1" High-Rise Turnoverball (GNXA2050), which I ultimately purchased. This unit fit snuggly and has worked just like the stock turnoverball in every way, giving me the necessary clearance for cable out of my Anderson Hitches Ultimate Connection Kingpin Coupler (SKU: 3246). So I am very happy with this setup and have been converted from my years favoring a B&W fifth-wheel hitch setup to my new B&W gooseneck setup. Should have done this sooner!

@DanM I changed out my pinbox to a Gen-y executive. We took a trip from AZ to Anchorage. After the break-in period, I was having issues with the 5th wheel scraping my bed rails on my truck. The horrible roads with frost heaves caused excessive movement causing the issue. I bought the B and W turnover ball. This gave me enough additional height to avoid the contact on the camper and truck rails. The problem was solved for the remainder of the trip. I did Ultimately move my GenY gooseneck down one set of holes after getting back to AZ where I had the tools and some help moving the gooseneck hole location. The turn over extension ball did the trick and worked well. The only issue with the extender ball was you can not store it upside down. This was what made me decide to move the gooseneck down a set of holes.

@AlA I hadn't thought about fact you can't flip over the taller ball. Thanks for mentioning that.
