Question:

I would like to replace a 15000 coleman q model 48024-6660 with something more efficient. My in-command system controls the ac and gas heater. What do you recommend. Thx Frank

Hi Frank,

The In-command system does limit our options for what air conditioners we have that'll work with that system. You can replace your Coleman AC with the Dometic FreshJet 3 RV Air Condition part # DMC94JF and install the Dometic Climate Control Gateway part # DMC32RR that will network your air conditioner(s) and furnace so you can control them from your In Command system. If you need a replacement air distribution box, you can use the Dometic Air Distribution Box for RV Air Conditioners part # DMC66RR as well.

The Dometic FreshJet 3 part # DMC94JF is rated for 15,000 Btus and has a custom blower system with a 500 cubic feet/minute air flow that's also designed to keep the unit quiet when it's running. It fits a standard 14 1/4" x 14 1/4" roof opening, requires 13 amps of power while running, and has E-coated coils as an extra layer of protection against corrosion to provide cool air for years to come.

What kind of temperatures do you usually camp in?

We vary from 100 plus in Texas to 10 below on occasion in Canada My concern with the dometic is I understand this is a discontinued model. Is this correct? Is there any other options Frank

@FrankN The Dometic FreshJet 3 has not been discontinued, they have released more models of it like the FreshJet 4 and 5 but the 3 is still also still available. The Dometic Penguin II and Brisk II have more recently been discontinued though. We currently only offer the FreshJet 3, if you want a newer model Dometic, it would still work with the Dometic Climate Control Gateway part # DMC32RR.

@FrankN Sorry, my response to your earlier question didn't process for some reason, but I've got it posted now. If you have any other questions, please let me know! I hope your new Dometic AC serves you well!
