Welcome back Andrew and thanks for the information! To replace your Springdale Summerland 2980BHGS AC, I recommend the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System item # ADV95SR in white or item # ADV85SR in black.
There's no way to just replace your AC unit if you have an Advent system, you'll need to replace all your AC system components. This is due to the EPA changing the regulations on the refrigerant in the AC units at the beginning of 2025. They've been upgraded to R32 and your AC system regardless of manufacturer has the now obsolete 410a refrigerant. None of the 410a components are compatible now with the newer systems. You will be able to use the existing wiring to power the AC system.
The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System item # ADV95SR in white or item # ADV85SR in black are 13,500 btu systems that include an air distribution box that works in both ducted and ductless orientations. These systems also come with a start capacitor that stores up energy. It's going to really help when the compressor kicks on and needs to draw excess power. They also have a thermostat that will need to be hardwired in. Since your system does not have a thermostat now you'll need to run wires to add one.
Does your Springdale Summerland 2980BHGS have an Advent system or the Coleman-Mach? Those are the two options your trailer typically came with from the factory. I'm just trying to dial in the right system for you and currently have an older refrigerant option that works with the Coleman-Mach air distribution boxes.
We've got quite a few replacement options if you don't have a Coleman-Mach or want to run wires for a thermostat. I understand swapping out everything to replace an older AC unit wasn't what you had in mind.
