After a long drive or a full day in the sun, this 15,500 Btu system cools your RV without long, uneven cooldown cycles. It fits larger trailers and RV interiors where higher cooling capacity keeps temperatures from lingering.
When the roof air quits keeping up, interior temperatures stay high long after sunset. This unit puts out 15,500 BTU with 500 cubic feet per minute of airflow, giving you the capacity to pull temperatures down in larger RV interiors while keeping air circulating.
Roof units can add vibration, outside air leaks, and water intrusion around the opening. A thick, collapsible gasket with foam pads supports the unit at the roof, seals the opening against water seepage and air leaks, and cuts vibration at the mounting point, so the AC keeps running while the cabin stays drier and quieter.
Cold air doesn't help if it stays in one spot. The air distribution box has adjustable registers on the front and back that tilt up, down, and side to side, plus three cool settings and three fan speeds controlled by manual knobs on the unit, so airflow reaches where people actually sit.
Rooftop AC swaps get messy fast when sealing and maintenance turn into separate jobs. This unit uses a bolt on installation, includes a wiring harness, and comes with a hard plastic cover that can be removed for maintenance and cleaning, so you can get the system mounted, wired, and back in service with fewer steps.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Advent Air Black 15,500 BTU Manual RV Air Conditioner System. This 15,500 BTU RV AC is designed to cool down your camper or motor home quickly and efficiently. So, this is gonna be a solid upgrade if your current system isn't keeping up. And this is specifically made for RVs like your motor homes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels.
But I do wanna point out that this is not intended for things like your school buses, food trucks, utility trailers, or off-road vehicles because typically those type of vehicles or trailers don't have the support needed in the roof to support a roof air conditioner like this. So, this is a 15,500 BTU unit. This is gonna be better for your larger RVs in hotter climates or in heavy sun exposure. It's gonna cool down faster and keep up with that extreme heat. Now, we do also have this available in a 13,500 BTU unit as well.
That'll be ideal for, like, your smaller RVs or campers in more moderate climates. It's gonna handle those normal conditions without overloading your system. So, if 15,500 is too much in your opinion, we do have that 13,500 available. Before we go any further, let me give you some measurements of this unit itself. Looking at the overall length, just from front to back.
Pretty close to 32 inches long. The overall width at right about the widest point here, pretty close to 26 1/4 inches. And then, the height's gonna be about 13 1/2 to 14 inches tall. Now, this does use the new R-32 refrigerant that complies with the new EPA regulations that took effect in 2025. That refrigerant is gonna be more efficient and environmentally friendly compared to the older R-410A systems.
So, because of that new refrigerant, this system is not going to be backwards compatible with other AC components pre 2025. So, that's why it's great that you're getting a system like this because the AC unit and the air distribution box are all R-32 compliant. They're gonna work together without any compatibility issues or anything like that. This outer cover (plastic thumping) is made of a durable black plastic. It's gonna do a great job of protecting the internal components from weather elements, things like that. But if for whatever reason you need to do any maintenance, any clean, this shroud is held in place by Phillips head screws. So, the screws can be easily removed. You can remove the shroud, do whatever you need to do. Replace that shroud and the screws and you can be on your way down the road. This is designed to fit standard RV roof openings that are 14 1/4 by 14 1/4 inches. And it's gonna work with roof thicknesses from about 2 1/2 inches to 5 inches thick. Now, let me give you a closer view of this side of my table to give you a closer look of what's included with this system. You're gonna get this air distribution box. It's designed for your non-ducted system in your RV or camper. And this is going to give you control over how the air moves throughout the cabin of your RV. This acts as basically a interior ceiling assembly that's gonna distribute and manage airflow from your rooftop AC unit. And I just kinda wanna position it like this to kinda give you an idea of what this is going to look like dropping down from your ceiling. So, it's not gonna take up a whole lot of head space. It's going to come down about 2 3/8ths inches. And I did keep this kind of cable tied together to keep it a little more manageable on my table here, just so I can easily turn this around. And so, you can see behind this. This is the part that's actually gonna go up into the ceiling of your RV. But one of the biggest advantages of this particular air distribution box is the controls are right here. You're not gonna have to worry about a separate wall-mounted thermostat. And this is a newer take because you don't have those black knobs. This is all gonna be touch sensitive control. So, you're gonna be able to adjust the thermostat, the built-in thermostat, the airflow, the fan speed, things like that. Everything's touch sensitive. So, it's gonna look great when it's mounted in your ceiling and it's gonna be very easy to control as well. Now, you're gonna be able to adjust the airflow here. As you can see, that's all gonna be very simple and the air filter can be replaced as well. So, that's gonna help, The air filter is obviously gonna help trap dust and dirt and debris before it reaches your fan blades. But once that's ready to be cleaned out, this will just pop off. You can rinse it out. make sure it's completely dry before you pop it back in. and you'll be good to go. It does come with the hardware that you need to install this, to bolt this into place. and to give you some further measurements of our air distribution box. looking at the width and what I'm calling the length here, both of those measurements are gonna be right at about 20 1/8th inches. Now, if you think you need help with getting this installed, we have you covered there. On this product page, typically underneath the photo section we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link and answer the questions that it has for you and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to do the installation for you. Overall, the installation's gonna be pretty straightforward, but probably the challenge is gonna be taking the old unit off of your roof and getting the new unit on. But if you think you need help with that installation, we've got you taken care of on that front. We do also have this available in a white shroud rather than the black if that would go better with your camper. We do have that option available here as well. I think it's gonna wrap up our look today. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
