Availability of Parts for Brake Buddy 3

Updated 05/29/2026 | Published 05/24/2026

Question:

Hello, I have a Brake Buddy 3 which is brand new when the company sent me a replacement in November. Due to surgeries, etc., I just now got the unit out to use and found the connector on the unit itself that attaches to the bracket on the brake pedal is missing. Now that Hopkins is out of business there is no where to go for assistance. Is there any chance your company carries replacement parts for Brake Buddy and would happen to have that part? I can’t even find the name of it in their literature, but it is the piece that screws onto the arm that extends from the front of the unit. Any assistance you can give to find that part would be appreciated. Thank you .

Hey Michael! Sorry to hear about your missing connector. After Hopkins shut down our Brake Buddy parts ran out quickly, and we no longer have replacement parts available. It looks like you already figured this out, but the best solution is to get a new system like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR you ordered.

I would consider Blue Ox and the Curt RVibrake 4 # RVI44FR safe solutions since I don't see either of those companies disappearing like Hopkins did, and future parts/support will stick around.

What are you flat towing?

Probably best to try eBay for brake buddy replacement parts. If you are considering upgrading, I purchased the Blue Ox Patriot last year and am very happy with it. It is lighter and more compact than the brake buddy and preformed flawlessly in my Jeep wrangler for over 4500 miles.
