Hi Sue, great question!
The Dometic FreshJet 3 RV Air Conditioner part # DMC94JF operates at approximately 58.5 decibels under normal running conditions, which is considered very quiet for a 15,000 Btu rooftop RV AC unit. To give you a better idea, that sound level is roughly comparable to a normal conversation or background office noise, so it is much less intrusive than many older RV air conditioners that can easily push into the mid to upper 60 decibel range. That quieter operation makes a noticeable difference in smaller campers where rooftop AC noise is usually much more noticeable at night or while watching TV. The FreshJet 3 was designed specifically to move plenty of air while keeping vibration and fan noise down, so you can cool the camper without constantly feeling like you have to talk over it.
What space are you hoping to keep the quietest, the bedroom bunk area or the main living space?

Thank you Heather, we have one of those older 27' RV's we just purchased. The ac is ducted and it is in the living room. We could not have a conversation without yelling. In the bedroom, with the door semi closed, we had the TV maxed out and could barely hear the TV. Time for a new quieter one! Good to hear that they are!
